After a long time without touching this AU, i did this for fun. It is based on the new camo being applied to the real Venezuelan aircraft under the new markings directive:
At a guess, probably something boring and prosaic like the 3D vectoring nozzles were heavier, more complex and prone to mechanical problems, and less efficient in normal, non-vectoring operation, and vectoring wouldn't be used often enough to offset these compromises. The Russians seem to like it.
