You are doing a wonderful job of drawing the Dutch subs, Alex. That you have chosen to do these in FD scale is awesome in itself and put the rest of us to shame. I did look at drawing the HMS Ariadne minelayer in FD as I have some good drawings, but I just got lost in the details and gave up. So man...

I like it. Couple of points, that forebridge superstructure has added a lot of topweight to the ship. To balance it out, by 1940-41 you would probably have removed the torpedo tubes to help compensate. That was something all of the older cruisers had a problem with. All the additional electronics an...

pepembr_mb You are quite welcome to play around with shading - that is what the "Non-Shipbucket" part of the forum is for. If you want to have your drawings in either the Real-Life or Never-Were sections of Shipbucket then you are obliged to follow the Shipbucket drawing rules. No exceptions. When s...

That's a bit mean, you have sunk the poor old Virginia before you have even drawn it. With 15" guns and a super-dreadnought, compared to the Union ships, if Virginia is in anyway faster and better armoured than the Union ships, it would probably create even more mayhem than what you have given it. Howdy DG,

That Emden drawing you reference is the drawing I used as the basis for the German 'Medium' cruiser drawings I did awhile back.

With all the hard work you have undertaken lately James, did you do your drawing off the real thing, having just bought one?

I found this on the White Ensign Models site. They have drawings for all the Fairmile marques, A, B, C, and D. I got the details for the 'D' type drawing I did from this site. Some of the model sites are excellent for picking up details you can include on your drawings. https://www.dropbox.com/s/k82...

From the descriptions, the BC sounds like an improved Canada type.

Canada (Almirante Latorre) had the same armament and armour, but 23 knot speed. Longer hull and larger powerplant to produce the 29 knot speed.

The design would be from the same timespan too (1912-13).
