What about a WarFighter challenge, a fighter that was not ready for the start, but did see action during ww2, maybe even being the heavy lifter or the fighter that is most recounted form the war. Examples off top of head being Tempest, fw190, p47, and p51.

First Generation jet airliner.

Think 707, dc-8, cb880, commet,C102, Caravelle, etc
I believe they trended all as narrow bodies and mostly quads around that time
