OK. Looking forward to see the new drawings. From what I understand "Tiger" conversions (ie pre Helicopter carrier version) are what Swiftsure and Superb would have received if their refits had gone ahead. Incidentally, as is well known, Tiger, Blake and Lion were all launched during the war then la...

I've always had a soft spot for Swiftsure and Superb, it might have something to do with having the Triang Minic model when I was a wee lad. I wonder where that is now? Both ships had comparatively short lives and may have suffered due to being emergency war-time construction. One was damaged in a c...

I'm looking forward to seeing the Belfast conversion. Of all the Towns she had least mileage on the clock by 1945 due to spending the first half of the war in dry dock, so she would be most suited to some sort of upgrade. Also do you have any plans for Swiftsure or Superb (or indeed others of that c...

Wow! I can actually remember seeing an artist's impression of this in a defence magazine when I was University round about 74/75. Why do people think none were ever built - too small for the big navies and too big for the little ones? Or is it just the low hit ratio of private designs?

An interesting concept. I've been thinking for some time about a possible future war, one which might last for several years. If you look at 1939 to about the end of 1942 you find that most of the pre-war Royal Navy has been destroyed. The attrition rate amongst destroyers for instance is enormous, ...

An excellent drawing of an iconic post-war ship. But, I have to ask, how did they ever get that big helicopter in the hangar?

While it is convenient from our viewpoint to look on the wars between Britain and France from the late 17thC to1815 as a “second Hundred Years War” I don’t think anyone looked on it as that at the time. Each war was fought for different reason for instance the Seven Years War started in mainland Eur...

Delighted to provide clarity – I have thought about the details. When Wesley’s army was defeated at the Battle of La Belle Alliance there were still Austrian, German Federation and Russian armies in the field in considerable strength. However after 20 years of war throughout mainland Europe there wa...

Nice to see another AU almost straight after mine!!! Just wondering what is CH Helicopter Cruiser?)?? Also what sort of tech does you military have? Nick CH is Helicopter Cruiser as you say, and in this case through-deckers, although the class they replaced had the hanger and heli-deck on the stern...

You'll have to tell us about HMS Medea because I was only aware of M33 and Caroline.

Also I believe that the Turkish minelayer, the Nurset(?) which laid the mines which sank so many ships at the Dardenelles still exists, albeit with drastically modified topsides.
