I'd encorage you to do Yukikaze's 1941 and 1943 configuration. You have bot the skill and the needed linedrawings to do that! I was actually considering this, but I decided to go ahead and do the Izumo-class DDH first. It'll be my first drawing from scratch, so you can look forward to me embarrassi...

So I've made some edits based off the sources BB1987 sent me. http://i.imgur.com/TIyEvEP.png This includes stuff like the new fire director, updated rigging, and edited details here and there. One thing I'm not too sure about is the stuff underneath the bridge windows. I only added it just now, and ...

They did try to keep parts commonality as high as possible but they did en up making full turrets, base ring mounts and pedestal mounts, fully enclosed, open backed, open topped, twin and single mounts and all of them came with a variety of armour and came in different sub models. You're absolutely...

To be fair the USN did make something like thirty different mountings for the 5"/38
Could have sworn the general design stayed pretty consistent, and most of the variants were really minor alterations.

Or I could just be remembering completely wrong and mixing this up with something else.

While I have not drawn the director equipping the Kagero class, I just realized I actually had access to some sources about the IJN Yukikaze (I beg your pardon from not remembering about them while you said you were still woriing on it). So, if I manage to squeeze a bit of time for it in the next f...

For what it is worth, removal of conning tower is by no means unprecedented. In fact, I would expect that to occur to remediate topweight problems associated with SPY-1's addition. But it's a drawing for fun, not a naval architecture senior design project. If you want it, keep it. I think it can be...

http://i.imgur.com/lcpY3sA.png Name on side of hull removed. Left BB1987 on the authors list. Considering how much stuff I used from that parts list, not crediting him just felt wrong and I couldn't remove it in good conscience. The bridge looks a lot like Harekaze, an AU Kagero drawing I made(edit...

for the USN, these were initially the 4 burkes deployed to Rota Spain as part of the EPAA for european bmd... the reason they required SeaRAM and not just RAM is because the version of the aegis bmd system these ships used (ie. BMD 3.6.x/4.x) could not operate in integrated air and missile defense ...

http://i.imgur.com/is9G8eR.png This was something I've had sitting around for a while. Getting some of the details down was a pain. I couldn't find any useful photos of her from early-mid 1945, and a lot of the models and line drawings differed in the small details, especially the rigging. I still ...

And replaced. Final final version hopefully: http://i.imgur.com/xfEXn9b.png To be honest, I might just delete the Iowa bridge block. It's not clear to me what a modern ship would need with four levels of pilothouse. It's mainly there because the old armored conning tower looked horribly out of place...
