I highly approve of this concept, the more demented a ship the better.

I have a bonus joker card idea. Make another version with 'uniform' battery of 10in guns, but with EVERY turret being two story with 7in guns above the 10in battery, and upgrade the casemates to 7in too.

The Knox class (at least) had Masker, so it didn't strictly require gas turbines.
