snip With the EU wanting its members to do more both to protect its borders and to intervene in the 3rd world . Member states came under pressure to improve some of their defence capabilities. The Irish were already contemplating replacing their 2 CN235 MPA with a more capable platform to give more...

You might have to do the PC12 in the Garda colours, there's a suggestion that it's likely for the Defender replacement, there's one been over Dublin yesterday doing a demo.

Looking good, can't wait to see them actually in service and find out what kit they are fitted with.

There's Casement and Gormanstown used be used, can't think of any other bases the Air Corps used. If the P31 class had worked out they would have had helicopters based in Cork but that never worked out.

Have you had a look on Safehaven's sites, they've had plenty of images of Magpie as she's been built in Cork.

As far as more complex weapons go i imagine that the PDMS will be the converted Seawolf cells ripped directly from the T23s rather then the new build system planned for the T26s. And if any Anti-ship missile is fitted it will be the same tired old block one Harpoon that the T45s and T23s carry. Tho...

As to what the T31s will eventually look like, i imagine that in a futile attempt to keep down costs they will end up using as many systems ripped from the outgoing T23s as possible, so Artisan radar, 30mm Close in guns, a number of CAMM-N. The savings will probably come from deleting any "new" equ...
