The usual excellence I've come to expect. JOHNSTON was one of the "square bridge" FLETCHER class destroyers, which incorporated a revised/simplified open bridge based on British war experience. While it's certainly true that British experience went into the bridge revisions, this seems to sort of i...

Adding a plan view to these drawings, which ended up resulting in quite a bit of rework. Interesting how drawing two different angles results in so much more fidelity in the finished product. I was intimidated for years by plan views, but now I love doing them! http://shipbucket.com/drawings/51/file...

Nice stuff. A few things jump out at me: 1. Harpoon canisters have no blast deflectors and launching would be difficult especially from the forward position 2. The top view of the 5" guns doesn't seem correct to me - I think only the rear of the mount has a beveled edge. Check out photos of the sing...

I was looking forward to your reply! Wasn't Measure 21 revised in 1945? I thought the blue pigment had been removed due to lack of availability and the color used was #7 Navy Grey and #4 Deck Grey. The new colors were in use by mid-1945, but only at the stateside yards. The forward areas (including ...
