when taking parts of ships, you need to credit all the artist drawing that orginal ship(s). And I say begining becouse I think the only flaws seems to be typical newbie mistakes with too extensive use of Black pixels and attempt to draw very thin objects with single black lines. Its also nice choise for going for larger ammount of 3 inch guns instead of the more standard 2-3 4 inch guns.
You can kitbash all you want as long as you give proper gredit to the orginal drawings. Also we recomend and engourage people to drawn the ships in full but we allow drawings without waterline as well. And what comes to mixing worklife and shipbucket...I'm running small city's district heating syste...
