I'm thinking I might move the Exocets to the foredeck or fit angled launchers somewhere to give a total of four missile tubes. As for point defense I'm thinking of putting something atop the hangar rood though I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking I might keep it using just Dutch or European systems where ...

Apparently my previous link didn't work so here it is again; http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/raptorva/NATOASWCompetitionEntryWIP2.png As I said I'm not sure whether I'm going to continue with this design or scrap it in replacement for something MEKO inspired. Not certain yet. I really wish ...

Well it isn't much but here's a slight update for the design. I'm still not sure about it and have actually been considering scrapping this design and instead going for something perhaps MEKO inspired. I'm not certain. https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Photos/Shipbucket/NATO%20ASW%20Competition%20Entry...

The main problem as we've discussed in the Type 14 thread is that it's so small it's going to have a hard time executing its mission properly. It's got a small sonar and likely very cramped conditions for an already small crew. It's sonar is pretty small-looking too. And in the end even the escorts...

Well as this is my first modern warship, I have no idea really where to go with it. Here's a rough idea of what I've got at the moment; http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/raptorva/NATOASWCompetitionEntryWIP1.png So far the only things I know is that she'll have most likely exocet missile launc...

Hmm...thinking I might try giving this a shot. Never drawn anything beyond 1940 however and I have no clue when it comes to what sensors and radars can be used for what weapons. Let's just see how it turns out I suppose... Mind you it's likely to be a compact design as I see a class useful for expor...

Well I've been absent from here for a while due to real life but finally able to catch up with things. Lately with this AU I've been trying to develop its history somewhat deeper so whilst little drawing has been done, things haven't remained stationary. My latest thought (which I'm putting out ther...

http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/raptorva/GuryevClassWWI.png Well here is a Guryev class as they would have appeared during the Great War. Standard 3in QF guns were fitted fore and aft and the colourful civil paint schemes were painted over with standard warship grey with all individual ves...

I'll give that a shot and see how things look.
As for the number of serviceable units, I agree with you there. I usually use the ratio of 1 ship serviceable and 2 undergoing maintenance, refit or occupied performing other duties.

Now that you describe it like that it does present a perfect case of how to utilise the vessels effectively during the average 3-4 months when the ports and rivers are not frozen over. A combined fleet then would make fairly decent sense as you pointed out. The shipping companies in particular have ...
