THe HMS Victorious had 6 twin 3"/50 gun mountings supplied from the US (along with SPS-6 radar) for use by the RN.

I think he means the Trident submarines need replacing. the hull are getting a bit 'long in the tooth' as it were. Currently there is no system that replaces Trident IIRC.

My all time favorite was HMS Scylla (the Dido class cruiser), but also the French Algerie (the cruiser), so it is hard to decide.
I just wonder as for the reason for this question?
Flagship name is of course Vrijstaat
