Both the BF109 and FW-190 were good planes. But the real mistakes were upgrading them instead of making superior ones. They did have limitations since these were early war planes. Both the P-40 Warhawk and the F4F Wildcat did pretty good against superior enemies. As long as you use them the right way anything can be quite deadly. Remember, it was the weak Sherman that killed the mighty King Tiger.

Do you know that the Harrier can`t take off verticaly with weapons and fuel? No plane ever built has been able to do that, not even the F-35.

The Rare Bear attained 860 km/h. One standard military Bearcat reached 840 km/h.

F8F good armed ? no ... he have only 4x50 cals with most of his counters use 20 mm cannons. Fastes piston ? also no ... Sea Fury was better. F8F-2 max speed was 730 km/h not 840 km/h. He was not good armed, not well armored, but indeed with good range. EDIT: models B and F-2 fly with 20 mm cannons ...
