P.S. I think they should be called something other than the "Alaska"-Class. Maybe "Virginia" would work a bit better?

Very nice! It's a pity the USSR didn't build any of these carriers. They could've built them after the war, but Khrushchev's disdain for capital ships slowed aircraft carrier development in the Soviet Union. If the Soviet Navy had more experience with carrier operations, perhaps they'd have understo...

I've always found it odd that the Dutch tried to order battlecruisers to counter the Japanese. IMHO, the Dutch should've gone with more "De Ruyter" style ships, but with a better main battery (and perhaps more U-Boats :D).

Nevertheless, it's a great drawing of a great ship that never was.
