Krakatoa, she's probably not going to fly with the Admiralty but, you definitely have an AA cruiser. Perhaps though, you may want to consider using twin 4.7-inch DP mountings as used in the carrier Ark Royal. Nce work on the drawing, too.

You can put as many 5.25" Mk.I turrets and HACS on Hawkins as you like and you will still not achieve a decent AA cruiser that's worth 9,500 tons. The truth is, the Mk.Is were designed to defend against straight-flying, high-evel bombers approaching on a predictabe course and height. The 5.25s were ...

Nice one, Rowdy. However, I do think you need to raise the height of the bridge and reverse the position of the foremast supports. After all, your warships have to look as good as your warplanes, hahaha.

From Wiki: Concern over the USAAF's inability to escort B-29s all the way to mainland Japan resulted in the highly classified "Seahorse" project (NAA-133), an effort to "navalize" the P-51. On 15 November 1944, naval aviator (and later test pilot) Lieutenant Bob Elder, in a P-51D-5-NA 44-14017, star...

Thanks guys. Nice work on Exmouth too. She'll make a good starting point for an HMS Faulknor drawing - perhaps late war with quad pom-pom amidships. I just need to find a little more info and a lot more time.

Very nice drawing. With 76 A to I class destroyers, 9 leaders and several spin-offs being built plus the various destroyer escort conversions, there's a whole range of possibilties with this lot. May even have a crack at a few myself - if that's okay?

The guns on Renown's forward shelter deck were 4" low-angle mountings with shields. Those abreast the second funnel were 3" high-angle mountings without shields. By 1926 all were replaced by 4" high-angle mountings without shields. David, you need to fix Renown's sheerline. The forefunnel should be ...

Thanks Rowdy. I'm glad you liked my 2 cents worth. We must remember though, that the 4.5" was also an AA mounting and a long range one at that. The Bofors, in whatever style of mounting, was never substantially more than a revenge weapon against air attack. I find it completely incomprehensible that...

The "Battles' lack of astern fire never sat well with me. Several years ago I drew a design with a third 4.5" turret at the expense of the aft bank of torpedo tubes. For your scrutiny:
