I believe what Mr MihoshiK meant was to highlight the fact that this vessel had a considerable tumblehome, beginning with the very pronounced prow section (which, btw, was not a ram in anything but superficial appearance! The French, in fact introduced this kind of extreme tumblehomed hull and negat...

Yup, exactly my very humble point. And, since there seem to be a few good choices available, why cross the river to get water from the pond??? 8-) :D

Just one Aber: did anyone but me notice that, if this ship is perceived to be Australian, why is it flying the White Ensign? I'm firmly convinced that the Brits would not deign themselves to "lower" their ship acquisitions to simple foreign designs... :D ;)

Vasa or Wasa or Vasen is actually the name of the ruling dynasty in Sweden 1523-1654, and NOT the hard tack bread! The Vasa was built by Arendt Hybertszoon de Groote and his brother, Master shipwright Hendrik Hybertszoon, at the Royal Shipyard beneath Tre Kronor palace in Stockholm betwix 1626-28. ...

Alvama, if my thirty years' of research into naval history won't convince you that what you drew are first sailing ships-of-the-line and then a steam-ship-of-the-line, I don't know what can. Your statement that there aren't any SOLs just doesn't hold true. Also, what real designs are they based upon...

On the two above ships'-of-the-line version with steam plants: why on earth do you use such antiquated stern galleries and ditto bow decorations? They look very, very odd to me, and not possessing the clean, sober, business-like lines of the later period (1820s to 1860s) SOL! Also the armored vessel...

If I may have my Five Cents, I believe that we've reached a very agreeable compromise, though it evidently took blood, sweat and tears to get there. From this point, if anyone care, it's possible to easily adjust the ZP to show the other three vessels in the class. I believe too, it was a sensible d...

*Mouth waters* Sooo... where's my French ships-of-the-line then? Those that actually helped secure United States' freedom and independence! :D :D  As always Brock, you overawe me with your skills!
