Grand. Absolutely grand.

Do you know why no. 3 turret was facing aft? I suppose it doesn't matter as it can't fire forward. Was there a specific name for this type of position as in "super-firing" for No. 2 turret?

These are, of course, excellent drawings. The change in HF radio fit is interesting. I did a double-take at the Nov 1944 fit, which seems to show the SC-2 antenna actually bracketed to SK, but the top view makes the arrangement clear. Hooray for top view! Thanks to all for your comments and advice. It's much appreciated. Here's YORKTOWN as commissioned in April 1943. She was launched with 4 x 20mm gun tubs under the stern flight deck ramp but at some point before commissioning they were moved to port and stb aft due to the experience of ESSEX and LEX...
