It would all depend on the political climate in Britain at the time, I can't see a Sea Tornado or Sea Typhoon, the Germans and Italians had no requirement for carrier operations, a carrier capable Tornado or Typhoon would be completely different from the aircraft we know, the Germans and Italians ma...

Superb drawings! On the Falklands issue, it depends on a whole lot of factors but if Argentina ends up with a dictatorship facing an economic crisis then it's a possibility. Britain having CTOL carriers might mean that Argentina would need a strategy for resisting a British counter attack from day o...

There would undoubtedly be pressure to go for the cheaper option, it will all depend on the political context in this AU. Perhaps Britain is less Eurosceptic and sees this as a way of deepening defence links across Europe and especially with France? Also not having an interim aircraft has its own ri...

Great drawings! The Westminster is something of a forgotten project, I know that British aviation fans tend to argue that the Rotodyne was a big missed opportunity but reading Hood's history of the project I can help but think that the Rotodyne was probably too advanced for its time and the Westmins...

Just wanted to add my appreciation for the excellent drawings, even though they bring a tear to the eye :( I agree with what was said earlier about how the design had become compromised by cancellation, in retrospect CVA-01 probably shouldn't have had Sea Dart and just had a full length flight deck ...
