http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c275/hangar/Shipbucket%20profiles/FPHMk3.png Marketed in 1972 as a 60-knot ASW hovership frigate. It achieved no sales success. Armament was to be one 3in DP gun (type unspecified and the turret is vaguely Swedish looking), two twin 20mm, one Bofors A/S mortar and ...

Looks excellent, I agree the shielded B mount looks better. One minor nitpick, you probably need more room between the breach of B gun and the bridge. There isn't much room for the gun crew and allowing for recoil etc. Note most RN cruisers of the time had fairly well spaced out guns. There is ample...

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c275/hangar/Shipbucket%20profiles/DDHDD-997Hayler.png in 1978 Congress approved the construction of a single air-capable Spruance to allow operation of four helicopters, a later possibly a VTOL aircraft. The USN didn't really want this ship and successfully redirec...

This is an interesting design. It marks a half-way point between the shielded gun cruisers of the 1910s and the twin and triple-gun turreted cruisers of the 1930s. I myself doubt whether the beam turrets would be good for stability and by 1921 the advantages of broadside gunpower may well surpass th...

Well I have a good sideview of the proposed Hayler so I can work on it. Might be a nice weekend project before I sit down to evaluate my HMS Hood project.

Nice work on these updates.
The only ones missing are the never-built variants, the one with the Mk71 8in and the enlarged hangar Hayler, I could do the latter if you want me to.

Nice work. The concentration of firepower aft makes sense when withdrawing etc after a torpedo attack. Generally its a 1930s ship but of course the Civil War and other wartime problems resulted in these ships commissioning far later than planned. I'm sure Jane's had a plan in one of their books of t...
