Very interesting and plausible design. I do have to say that I much prefer the split-funnel design to the large single funnel from an aesthetic standpoint. If your intention is to carry SM-2 and SM-3, I wonder if it would make sense to do what the Danes did with the Iver Huitfeldt - class frigates, ...

Absolutely jaw-dropping. I think you're hitting the limit of how much detail can feasibly be rendered in this scale.

I really like these as a pure flight of fantasy. They do have a certain megalomaniacal quality that strikes me as perhaps less British and more Soviet in inspiration. Kind of a “what if the RN wanted to build a Kirov?” Maybe in an alternate universe where the British Empire persists through the deco...

A few weeks ago I started reading into the South Korean (Republic of Korea) Navy, especially how it initially expanded in the post-Korean War years, initially being equipped with US-surplus FRAM destroyers ( Fletcher , Allen M. Sumner , and Gearing - classes), and later developing a domestic shipbui...

Interesting. You have a lot of top weight stacked on top of what amounts to essentially a hollow box. Maybe there is room for structural members on the interior but I’m not sure how workable that would be - I’m not a naval engineer by any means. Maybe someone who is more knowledgeable can weigh in. ...

The artwork on these is really nice, although I’m not in love with the large monolithic blocks of bridge windows on your Yorktown/Yonaga . The Ise - class is very interesting to me although I’m somewhat perplexed by the aircraft handling facilities. I don’t see any external aircraft elevators, which...

Charguizard and Kiwi Imperialist - thank you so much for the kind words. I certainly didn't expect a third-place finish, I'm pleased that my drawing has been so well received by the community. This is the first time that the length of the challenge has coincided with a low enough workload on my end ...

Hi all - I hate to resurrect an old thread like this, but I just discovered that there's some fantastic work done here by homeSniper, yet only a few of these drawings have been uploaded to the main archive. It would be a shame to see them disappear at some point without ever being uploaded.

Cheers!
