Spruance was originally designed to fit a Mk 26 back there, and a Mk 41 would have fit as well. Though these spaces were filled with other stuff throughout their service lives, it was nothing that couldn't be moved in a refit so major as this.

The phased arrays should probably be tilted backwards a bit more. PESAs of the 1980s tended to be good for about a 90deg 'cone' of effectiveness, centered on the direction perpendicular to the face, and falling off away from that direction. Higher is always better if possible. The one thing I will say for TAS Mk 23 (or SPS-49) is that from an ECM point of view, one cannot have too many bands.
