Looks very good David.

Only question I would have is that there seems to be only 2 AA directors for the heavy AA. Might there be room for a couple more beside the funnel? Especially for 1944.

Shipright: I modelled the vls units shown in the SB parts sheet against the hull and overview to see if they would fit where I wanted them to go. Yes the hull does taper down, but the vls units don't extend down below the black waterline mark on the hull and would easily fit inside the taper. Have a...

Why would they want to buy into an inferior weapon as the US 5"/38?
The 4.5"/45 with split ammunition outperforms the 5"/38 in both range and height.

Totally agree - the best turret for the 4.5" is the one trialled on HMS Savage in 1943, and used as the main turrets on the Battle class. Using your crystal ball to make that one available would be great. I only use the earlier turret because of its position in the timeline. It had the capability to...

JSB: I would use it every time - and using your crystal balls - I would cure the major problem the turret had. Which was hydraulic training and elevation. Replace that with electric systems and the mount is better. Have a read of Navweaps on the turret. Remembering that i'm replacing the 60 degree e...

Thanks Shippy2013, The RQ21 sounds exactly like what is required. Plenty of room on the heli-deck to mount the launch and retrieval system. For the others: From Wiki: The RQ-21A Blackjack is designed to support the U.S. Marine Corps by providing forward reconnaissance. A Blackjack system is composed...

If you carry that 15A & B forward, then you would also delete the 5.25" from the inventory. That would give the Dido an armament of 10x4.5" which I figure could have been mounted in L/M twin turrets which with the 4.5" having an 80+ degree elevation would have been a decent mounting. (Would also be ...

Howdy Hugo,

I did the design of the turrets different to the 14" for just that reason - so they would be different. Otherwise they would look indistinguishable from 14" KGV.

I did one of these several years ago with a straight swap of triple 15" for the mixed 14" armament. I agree that leaving out the 14" out of the inventory of ammunition that needed to be held is a good thing.
