Mid mounted catapults are nothing new on USN ships. All cruiser designs from the 20s and early 30s had mid mounted catapults. On Springstyles, there are some late 30s early - 40s designs that have mid mounted catapults, albeit with hangars. My doubts are not about the amidships aviation facilities ...

I broke with tradition and drew a non-real life ship. ;) Thanks to DeskJetser for the awesome render! http://shipbucket.com/wiki/images/7/70/WG_Dallas_Notional_1943-06.png This is the American light cruiser "Dallas" from World of Warships. As far as I can tell, this ship is not based on any particul...

http://shipbucket.com/drawings/7641/file This is NASHVILLE (CL-43) in March of 1945, after the conclusion of a refit at the Puget Sound Navy Yard. NASHVILLE returned to the US west coast after sustaining kamikaze damage off the Philippines in December of 1944. NASHVILLE is camouflaged in Measure 21...

Thanks all. Do you know why no. 3 turret was facing aft? I suppose it doesn't matter as it can't fire forward. Was there a specific name for this type of position as in "super-firing" for No. 2 turret? I spent some time re-reading the chapter on these ships in Friedman's Cruisers but couldn't find t...

I asked for one entry per person so contestants could best focus on perfecting one single design. I also noticed in the last contest that the upper tiers were stacked with entries from the same few artists, and it meant the newcomers had no chance of getting into the top 5 or top 10. I am not person...

Yes, I'd like to see the comments for each compiled into a chart in the first post. A big chart of each entry would be nice too. @shigure?

Nearly a month between drawings... :( http://shipbucket.com/drawings/7638/file This is NASHVILLE (CL-43) in October of 1944 while operating in the Philippines. The ship is camouflaged in the light pattern system of Measure 33/21D. NASHVILLE shows the standard mid-war refit scheme applied to the BROO...

Nice comment but please don't bump 3-year old threads unless you are posting drawings that apply to the thread. ;)
