general drawing husbandry. That's interesting about the lightning rods ... I guess a solid strike would fry SAMPSON pretty terminally!

I find I'm much better at parts drawing then complete ships nowadays. Translating things to tiny detail is fun. we make a good T45 team then, because I always find the general shape okay and the small details the most impossible and frustrating thing! And Duncan is this: https://orig00.devian...

First draft of HMS Albion (L14) post her July '17 rededication ceremony. I haven't been able to find any particularly good references for lots of the areas of the ship, so if anyone's got any better information or photos post refit, that'd be a massive help! I'm also trying to sort HMS Scott out, bu...

I agree that the concept art shows a 76mm - I'm just confused as to why. As it's a BAe concept surely a BAe Mk 45 5" mod 4 would be installed? As there will be on the Type 26? I'll admit when I drew it I put the 45 on because that seemed the logical choice  You'd assume the people at BAe who ma...

Thanks for your feedback, team :) The Tidespring looks great but I would be tempted to tone down the shadow in the hull cut-outs as right now they look like black blobs. I agree that the black is too severe - tried it with a lighter background: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kj4dn0ti2w21fn2/Tide%20Templa...

Hello, Had a crack at some newbies (Tide and 'Leander' concept) and some oldies (Hunt and Sandowns) recently - see what you think. A136 RFA Tidespring - fitted with weapons, although I'm not sure when that's going to happen in real life ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/rkatlrknz62sy8d/Tide%20Tem...

I am still somewhat annoyed by the presence of those LCVP drawings though :(
Haha sorry Ace, I was looking for the the blank background for the LCVP opening. Needed a bit of manipulation to get the davits in the right place. I've changed the colours on the LCVP, I hope that's okay!

Thanks for your comments! I was trying to show the change in angle with the hull shading but frustratingly it only shows up in a few photos! https://www.dropbox.com/s/d5d5pb6ei1gje36/hms-ocean-royal-navy-ship-on-the-river-thames-at-greenwich-in-london-EPNWW9.jpg?dl=1 Anyway, with the hull shaded reg...

UK plc doesn't seem to get a great deal of value for money for many warships it procures, and I can't help feel that the T23 kit simply bolted on to T26 while losing key capabilities (torpedoes, anti-ship missiles) for such a large price is highly problematic for a Navy that used to pride itself on ...

The current UK flagship, OCEAN has just been sent to the Caribbean to help with the post-hurricane recovery work. I believe it's her last trip before she's decommissioned and is sold to Brazil. Luckily the amphibious capability she provides will be ably covered by ... er ... well, PRINCE OF WALES wi...
