if you want to use one without dock, maybe use an better streamlined hull, and make a ship like an invincible class. your layout is also possible, the new USS America will have it, but it is still based on the same hull as the old ships. It is a small limited design because it's designed and made t...

Yes, it has lost it's amphib capabilities. If it didn't it wouldn't have space for a aircraft hangar. Where would you have placed the elevator? http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/images/mistral-ntcd2.jpg http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/images/SHIP_LHD_Canberras_Concept_Mission_...

About the drawing it is a strange mix between a profile and a section. The shaded area should be the armoured section but this was an "ideal" ship... very true. an ship based directly on these plans couldn't float, so I will move around some things. I've done that a bit already, look at the lower f...

This was the basic drawing of the Cuniberti's paper. http://www.cityofart.net/bship/an_ideal_battleship.jpg This design was really too heavy due mainly to secondary guns. BTW Cuniberti was not thinking to a complete armour but to limit it to main parts. Typically approach was to have fast unit with...

it already has lost most of it's amphibious capability's, the lift has become placed in the place of the dock. not the best solution, I think......

I decided to start again with this ship. it is now nearly finished, I only need to do some shading, some flags and the underwater hull. for the underwater hull I have to ask if somebody has some reference, I have one foto but it doesn't shows the entire hull. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz223...

Not a clue. However, it's definitely a yard job. Whether or not it takes a drydock isn't really important, you still need the cranes and support facilities to do it. that's right. I only meant with it that you don't need to cut the metal and refit new parts in the hull and so on. the weapons and ma...

I am now working on Cuniberti's design for an all gun battleship. it was published under the name 'an ideal ship for the british navy' in janes fighting ships. everybody who has looked into the history of the dreadnoughts, knows this design, so I want to make the best of it. I will make an italian a...
