Because I was lazy, and modified the template the original drawing was on, some had an top-view drawing on! I'll fix that when I get home

Occasionally NH90 operated on them, but since we didn't even get all of them after 14-16 years, those we had was prioritized on Coast Guard vessel. Under NATO command, other countries would use the helipad but not the hangar. Since the Navy used the hangar as a gym (Norway's expensivest gym!)I do wonder, if I should make the communication doom, between the two funnels, even darker, due to the exhaust from the funnel, in real life it's almost black due to that, but since we don't paint rust. |

Drawing bellow, is to replace: http://shipbucket.com/drawings/2486 A ship from an old steamship company, from a city I live in now! Det Bergenske Dampskipsselskap (BDS) The Bergen Steamship Company They was among the big companies in Norway, transporting passengers up and down Norway, in almost any weather. They was one of the few Norwegian companies that had routes between Norway and UK and USA. The Company had everything from small local boats to large ocean going passenger ships, cargo ships and their own tugs, they was more or less a complete company. And during WW2 many of their ships was part of Nortraship, but ships that didn't manage to escape, worked with transporting goods for Germany, specially sement from Germany to Norway. In short "BDS" was a company that worked on both side off the fence and was basically two companies, home company and also part of Nortraship. TS Leda was build from 1952, Commissioned in 1953. She had a turbine powerplant for improved speed capability, compared to here competitors and those route she serviced, her max traffic speed was 22knots, while other hold 17-18 knots and She would happily stay at that speed. She was equipped with stabilisators making here a very comfortable ship to be on, but even when the stabilisators wasn't working, she was still a comfortable ship. Crew would describe her as a ship that handle bad weather extremely well, and that she had the power to keep the speed up in rough weather. She was also equipped with excellent radars where one of here two main radars was of military grade (she was one the/a military list). some features that can be spotted on the ship. - Her aft deck would open up, when she was leaving port and the crew was done with cargo handling. - The funnel, had many functions: ventilation for galley, funnel for the boiler and part of the ventilation system for engine room. - 3 large cargo holds. - a restaurant and cafe-deck. an salon deck, and a forward observation deck. - Her turbine engine was expensive to operate, and already in 1974 she was laid up after 21 year of service. - 1979 sold to Kuwait (Kuwait Livestock Transport & Trading). New name: 1979-82 "Najla"; 1982-84 "Albatros" - 1982 sold to Greece (Dolphin Shipping later Beacon Seways Maritime)). New name: 1984-85 "Alegro"; 85-88 "albatros"; 1988-89 "Betsy Ross"; 1989-91 "Amalfi" - 1990 sold to port Vila (Valgas Trading. New name: 1991-2001 "Star of Venice" - 1993 sold to Panama (Newport Shipping later Star Of Venice Navigation). - Scrapped in 2001 Technical information: ------------------------ Displacement: 6,669 gross tonnes Length: 133,51 meters Beam: 17,43 meters Draft: 7,98 meters Speed: 22 knots ------------------------ Machinery: 2 Parson steam turbines delivering 13.185 hp - stabilisators Speed: 22 knots ------------------------ Passengers: 584, at delivery her capacity was only 498, divided on 114 first class berths and 384 in tourist class. Cargo: cargo capacity of 1970 tons (dead weight), and had cold storage of 75,410 cubic feet ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/nrFRTDh.png) Some notes from me as an artist: - I am pushing the limits on what I can do with shipbucket style. where I have chosen in some area do a little extra shading to show that the deck is deeper then normal. - some lines comes from me translating low resolution drawing and pictures of various quality and era of the ship carrier. - I chose to drop details, since I can't pinpoint what they are, due to photo quality. Next ship I will draw, some probably will take some time, due to holiday travels. Is the ship, that TS Leda (above) replaced, it was a ship that also was named TS Leda 1920. a ship that have had many "accidents/mishaps" and a dramatic rescue mission where she went out from port to rescue a ship in a hurricane. She also towed another passenger ship, that had engine problems, to port and received rescue money even when both ship was from same company. She was sunk by Russian land based artillery, in shallow water. |
