Sorry to say, but this drawing still needs quite a bit of work....

First of all, it might be an better idea to base it on the newer drawing done by Bombhead of the Vengeance, the ship actually becoming the Minas Gerais. This can be found here: http://shipbucket.com/drawings/5186

Then, there's the fitted equipment. I have not checked everything, but I can see you are missing some antenna's on the superstructure, and where you put the SPS-40 I think the ZW-06 was fitted. in the mast, where you have fitted I think an british radar, was where the SPS-40 was mounted.

If this picture (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... -01327.jpg) is still accurate for 1972 (the pic is from slightly later) There are a lot of details different from what is on your drawing. For example, the sponsons under the deck and superstructure, the shape of the bow, the position of the anchor and the hull number, the tubes and vents on the hull. The liferafts seem to be all in the wrong places..... I can keep going, but that's your job ;)

All in all, I would check your references with pictures, as I think they have steered you wrong. It is not an terrible drawing, but putting it next to a picture of the real ship, it just does not look the same :( and that is the point of drawing a real design, isn't it?

I used photographic reference, Janes profile and official Brazilian Navy info to built my design. The island was designed above a very detailed photographic image and is correct for the period. The radar and equipment is consistent with the second refit. It used a mix of American and British radars: SPS 40B and Plessey AWS-4. The info was in the 1996 Janes Defence Weekly edition. My intention is to design all Minas Gerais evolution, after all, it was the most extensive Colossus Class modification.

It will be great to see all the evolutions ;)

For now, maybe a nice step would be to update the red color on the hull and replace the old propeller with a newer one.

To add to some of the comments, I might try to find some newer Sea Kings, and I'd like to see what image(s) you used as a reference.

For better aircrafts you might want to take a look here.

I accept the recommendations and took a newer design as a basis to the hull:

Much better already! but there is still some work to do for these to be perfect.

A few comments:
- You seem to lack black outlines on quite a few windows, and you have at least 2 colours for your windows.
- While you have shaded your overhanging stern, the just as big or bigger overhangs at the bow are unshaded
- I think there are a lot better parts on the shipbucket wiki for the helicopters, aircraft and some of the radars. Take a look there ;)
- I can't help but notice the flight control station to the sides of the pilothouse are asymetrical, while you have them symmetrical? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... _1984.JPEG
- Many things seem mirrored on your drawings between port and starboard sides, while the real ship was not arranged as such? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DOWp9hSWkAAYKQQ.jpg

I can't wait to see the finished product, some sections seem very nicely detailed on your drawing while others still need a lot of work, so I suppose this is still a work in progress?
Something that can serve as help and inspiration, while googling images I found an old Work In Progress by Bombhead, http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... 643#p39643

Thank you!

A problem of scale. They are so small that the use of black outline could distorce them.

The Minas has a very large stern overhang to enhance the landing space as you can see in the upper plan. It's the bigger in all Collossus conversions.

I used the most recent radar templates. For the helicopters and aircrafts I looked in Planebucket. Checking again in Shipbucket Wiki I found your Tracker and better Sea King, Linx and Wasp designs.

It's a lot more visible in front view. At side view it's less evident. I put more shadow and, just to show some differences between them, i redesign the port view two pixels bigger.

I used Bombhead's hull portside and it's precise.

Well, for me, it's ready. Thank you for the tips.

Very nice work on the ship, congratulations!

All you need is newer drawings of aircraft on her.
