Perhaps, but that was what the various artistic depictions of the ship show and other White Star ships from the period like Britannic and Georgic still used Wellin davits.

I've done an alternate version of the ship based on the AltHist novel "One Final Voyage" where she makes her maiden voyage in 1937 just as Titanic is making her final transatlantic crossing. The ship in the book is somewhat larger than the planned Oceanic and since she is introduced several years later I made her look a bit more advanced. She also has twin catapults for mail planes and a large lighted nameboard like Normandie.

Wonderful, but... why did you spell her name on her superstructure "OCENAIC"?

VERY nice work! Who wrote "One Final Voyage" and has anyone read it? Sounds interesting!

CanisD,
thanks for your quick response and I'm sorry to my slow one, but I didn't see that you had responded, because it was on the next page and I didn't note it.
I like even your alternate version of the Oceanic but as I learned cpt. Isherwood's Oceanic profile was unfortunately only according to his imagination, so we won't ever know how she would have exactly appeared if she had been built. Perhaps her most loyal appearance is being made by Richard Edwards' new 1:600 scale model of the Oceanic. :)
PS: thanks for tip for those books ( I mean Atlantic crossing and One last voyage), it sounds very interesting and no doubt I must sometime read it. ;)

Oceanic will probably always be an enigma since H&W apparently didn't hold on to their blueprints after a project ended. One wonders what might be hidden in the attics and basements of former H&W employees around Belfast...
