Hi everybody,

Something different: A TriSWACH Wind Farm Support Vessel produced for a UCL study into offshore wind farm support approaches. Both similar to and quite different from the Austal TriSWACH vessel.

This is a baseline design forming the basis for ongoing modelling, so it is not supposed to represent the *best* solution, as that can only be determined by wider consideration of the different approaches.

This craft uses the Houlder Turbine Access System (a type of stabilised gangway), and has upperdeck machinery (unusual for a small craft), specifically to allow maintenance from an offshore base or mothership. Propulsion is via azimuthing propellers between the hulls, which allows them to be driven directly from the machinery space.
