While doing the C Class AA designs I came across references to the 'Turkish' C's (Centaur and Concord). It turned out that the material and equipment gathered for two Turkish Scout Cruisers was worked into the Centaur sub-class and from that came the Turkish references. The two C Class were not actually being built for Turkey.

Several weeks later while doing the D class and all its sub drawings, Smurf came through with a drawing of the original design for the Turkish Scout Cruisers.

The armament shown on the drawing is 2x6", 6x4.7", 4x2pd, 2x17.7" torpedoes on singles mounts on either broadside.

The design falls in between the later Bellona class Scout cruisers and the early Town class light cruisers.

Enjoy

I'm very grateful for those who draw "neverweres" because a Shipbucket drawing gives a good impression of what the finished ship might have looked like. As it happens, the Turkish Scout original drawing was a rather nice colour wash from the Armstrong Portfolio reviewed in Warship some years ago, with line drawings by Ian Sturton because the originals wouldn't reproduce in print. But originals are often quite simple outlines like those Hood used for the 1929 Leander precursors, or even more basic. I've several more if anyone is interested, including the "extended D" with the sixth gun moved from ahead of the funnels to a sort of Nelson position before the bridge, to make room for extra fuel tanks. The hull was lengthened about 15ft. Or Hood might decide to include F2 and F3 in his BB series.
PS I've usually also got the Admiralty "Dimensions and Estimate of Weights" tables for these sketch designs, and associated notes.

Interesting work, a nice looking cruiser, and as usual great art work.
