Before the ASW hydrofoils of the Pr.1141 Sokol (NATO: Babochka) were actually built, they underwent the prolonged research and development process that had its origins as early as 1956 when Zelenodolsk Design Bureau (TsKB-340) begun design works into a new methods of hunting newly-introduced fast submarines. That work research effort was formalized in the joint decision 994-467 of the Central Commitee of the CPSU and Council of Ministers of the USSR declared on 28th of August 1958, about the creation of the complete design of the ASW hydrofoil vessel Pr.1121 by 1960, coupled with test works on the scale model Pr.M1121 Smerch and eventual construction of two full scale ships by 1962.

In 1964 the cancellation of the manufacture of the NK-6 engine planned for these vessels and adaptation of the NK-7 engines led in turn to closure of works on Pr.1121. Instead the works on design project Pr.1141 were initiaded, and by 1967 the early design versions were ready.

Soon thereafter, already in 1967 projects were modified, becoming more similar to final result, although the whole design process continued, and in 1969 at least one more interim design was created.

Note that there are no information on these vessels' exact length, so it had to be based on approximate calculations.

Fantastic work!
The Pr.1121 was a strange looking beast!

Again a very informative thread! Well done eswube!

Does the Pr.133 Antares related with any of these?

Thanks for words of appreciation! :)
One more addition, as it wasn't properly expressed in the entry - the Pr.M1121 scale model was technically speaking a craft for research of the underwater hull and wings' arrangements and externally it's "over-the-water" parts bore no resemblance to the planned "full-sized" ships.

@Odysseus1980
The Pr.133 Antares was related to these only indirectly, through the use of the overall results of the R&D work (and it was built in the same shipyard as Pr.11451's), but it had the different hull/wings configuration than the real-life Pr.1141/11451 family.
And responding to Your question from the PM: Yes. The Pr.133 (thanks for the link!) is also on my to-do list for the Small Soviet Combatants thread, which, I hope, will eventually contain as many of the relevant ships as possible, but I can't promise You any specific dates when it will be done (my whole SB to-do list is rather long and for some strange reason, despite drawing new ships, it isn't getting any shorter ;) ).

Continuing the thread...

In 1967 the design was made of a small rocket ship (MRK) based on a Pr.1141 and named Uragan (though it's project number is not mentioned - it can be only assumed that it would still be 1141 with some additional letter, perhaps 1141R, for example).
It was to be armed with total of six anti-ship missiles (source picture shows launcher suggestin P-15 family) and newly developed AK-630 30mm gun and Osa surface-to-air missile.
Unfortunately, my source drawing does not show the underwater hull, yet it seems that the hull was slightly longer (apparently extended aft) which would certainly change somewhat the shape, so I decided to show it only above the waterline.

To be continued...

Very interesting, never heard of this one before.
I love the big spray guard around the Osa-M!
