Hi again

The following is based on an original plan published on dreadnoughtproject.org. It is labeled 'Guertelpanzerkreuzer' but lacks any further documentation except a pencilled date (1893). The ship seems to be armed with four 240/30 or 240/35 guns, eight 150/35 guns and eight 88/35 guns and has a french-style very narrow full-length belt which would certainly have been fully submerged at full load. It probably was a preliminary design eventually leading to the Fürst Bismarck, Germany's first armoured cruiser. Dating to 1893, it could probably have been completed in 1896, in which case it would be painted in the old-style black-white-buff livery...

... or later, in which case the paintwork would be the 1896-grey which remained standard for German ships till 1945.

Greetings
GD

I guess you didn't draw it whitout a plan in mind........

I've never heard of this design before, so this is an excellent introduction. It certainly has foreign influences in the design style but its a sleek looking cruiser. The superfiring light guns are an odd feature.
And of course, as ever, its drawn to GD standards so there's no comments to add to the drawing itself.

That drawing is really excellent. The detail level is amazing without compromising the visibility too much. Very well done as usual, and congrats on successfully covering what must have been a fairly obscure topic to research.

I prefer the second colour scheme the most, much less 'in your face', I see him as a precursor to the Brandenburg class, the main armament did it exist?
