Three? I knew that Hellenic Navy considered to order one BB from Germany (the Salamis) and one from France (which would be named King Costantine).

According vice-admiral Cavvadias the intention of Hellenic navy was the acquisition of three Salamis-class battleships, one Lorraine class from France and one Queen Elizabeth class form GB.I've read this in an article about the mistakes of Eleftherios Venizelos as it concerns naval armaments of that period to the magazine "Β' Παγκόσμιος Πόλεμος".

Problem would logistical support of three completely different ships and budget. I never understand this policy of "buy from every source available".

KonPtol " three Salamis-class battleships, one Lorraine class from France and one Queen Elizabeth class from GB." Five? A lot for Greece. Over what period? Or did Cavvadias mean three battleships? Translation can produce difficulties sometimes.

Thanks for clarification. Very interesting that Greece seemed to want a 'fast division'of one ship. I still think 5 is a lot for Greece. QE's were very expensive, and I doubt whether UK would supply. They did after all accept one from Malaya and hoped for three more from Canada, but went on to build somewhat cheaper R's.
