Following the successes the Australian Navy have had with the Rockhampton Class FFH, foreign sales have commenced of the design. The New Zealand Defence Force (Navy) have made their first purchase of a Rockhampton Class FFH and have named it NZDFS Waikato (FFH55). She will be homeported in Auckland.

NZDFS Waikato is essentially the same as the Australian ships but does have some sensor fit changes, no Nulka decoy or towed array and embarks an AS565 Panther helicopter.

Australian National Lines commenced operations in the 1920's and up until recently have been Australia's premier shipping company shipping products both internationally and domestically.

Here is a portion of the ships in ANL's current inventory.

These are really great, I love the subs. An Australian derivative of the Japanese Soryu - class, perhaps? The Submarine Rescue Vessel is very well executed as well.

I do have to wonder if four subs is a sufficient number for the Australian Navy, given that the RAN operates six Collins - class boats now and had intended to increase that number to 12 under the Attack - class Program.
