Vestricia

[ img ]

The Royal Vestricia Air Force One and Royal Vestricia Air Force Two are the radio callsigns of the two heavily modified Boeing 747-400ER aircraft used by the Vestrician's His Majesty Government for overseas travel by the Emperor, Prime Minister and other high-ranking officials. Each aircraft has a capacity of 160 passengers and can be used for emergency evacuations of Vestrician citizens and overseas deployment of Royal Vestrician Armed Forces personnel. The aircraft are operated by the Royal Vestrician Air Force. The two aircraft always fly together on government missions, with one serving as the primary transport and the other serving as a backup with maintenance personnel on board. The aircraft use the Rolls-Royce RB211-524G.

The aircraft are painted with crimson red along the fuselage to the tail and gold stripes along the fuselage and Chrysanthemum crest insignia on the tail.

The aircraft contains an office area in the front-most section of the lower level, ordinarily for use by the prime minister, which may be repurposed for use by the Imperial family or other VIPs. The next cabin toward the front has lie-flat seating for senior officials (2-3-2 configuration), a separate enclosed VIP cabin with two seats, a conference table with seats that fold down into beds, and a secretarial area with office equipment. The main cabin normally functions as a seating area for reporters, with seating equivalent to airline short-haul business class seating (also 2-3-2 configuration), and has a table at the front to be used for press conferences. These cabins may be used as passenger seating on evacuation missions. The upper deck has seating equivalent to airline economy class seating (3-3 and 2-3 configuration), which is used for communications and crew rest.

Controversy
When it was delivered and commissioned in 2007, the US Government raise a very dislike concerns on how Boeing built such kind of heavily modified aircraft that can rival the VC-25A in terms on its very powerful radar equipment and defensive countermeasures without any knowledge and permission to the Congress. Also, the registration of the aircrafts was designated as B747-400F, a freighter. In 2008, the US Congress filed a lawsuit to Boeing and Vestrician Government regarding the said aircraft and demand Vestrician Government to return the aircrafts as soon as possible. However, the Vestrician Government response that they will reissue a 10 Warning Demands against the United States if they continue to pursue the case. The US Congress dismissed the case as the Vestrician Ambassador went to the White House and relay the Ultimatum of 10 Warning Demands to the President.

The Royal Vestrician Air Force VIP Voyager, identified with the military aircraft registration BDR7708 and BDR7710, and more recently named by the Royal Vestrician Air Force (RVAF) as Napoleon and Fortillas respectively, refers to a customised RAF Voyager KC3 (A330-243 MRTT) owned and operated by the Royal Vestrician Air Force that is the first principal VIP transport aeroplane for the Beauharnais Republic Archduke family, the Prime Minister, and Beauharnais government ministers.Whilst the RVAF operates the Royal Vestrician Federation's fleet of twelve Voyagers, a militarised multi-role tanker transport (MRTT) aircraft; BDR7708 Napoleon and BDR7710 Fortillas, the VIP Voyager refers specifically to two individual Voyager KC3 aircraft painted in a British designed 'White French Republique' livery, and fitted with secure satellite communications system, missile detection, thirty business-class seats (front cabin), one hundred 'premium economy' standard seats (rear cabin), and media facilities, office area, and conference room, similar to other dedicated air transports of heads of state and government.

Royal Vestrician Navy
Second Rank Frigates

Uchigatana-class Anti-Submarine Frigates

The Type 26 frigate, also known as Uchigatana-class frigate in Royal Vestricia, is a class of frigates being built for the newly-reformed Royal Vestrician Federation's Royal Vestrician Navy. Its primary role is to conduct advanced anti-submarine warfare missions while supporting air defense and general purpose operations. The type is the first naval platform participated and shared by Royal Vestricia with Great Britain after the Type 45 PAAMS program.

In June 2017, the Vestrician Government alongside the Vestrician Admiralty, announced that it had selected a modified version of the Type 26 platform as the planned replacement for its Stadtfeld-class frigate. This will see the Royal Vestrician Navy initially intend on procuring up to ten, divided into two different batches, Uchigatana-class frigates, which will be constructed by BAE Systems - Maritime Ships at their shipyard in Rosenworth Academic City-state.

Development

BAE Systems (Type 26/Global Combat Ship)

BAE Systems offered an export variant of its Type 26. The Type 26 and the smaller, cheaper Type 31 will replace the Royal Navy's Type 22 and Type 23 frigate fleets.

The Type 26 in UK service will be equipped with an advanced anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capability, a 24-cell strike length Mk 41 VLS for long-range strike weapons such as the Tomahawk, a 48-cell vertical launch silo (VLS) for Sea Ceptor anti-air missiles, a 5-inch gun, and is capable of landing a Chinook helicopter on its flight deck.

On 19 June 2017, the Vestrician Government announced that the Type 26 had been selected to fulfill the newly-reformed Royal Vestrician Navy's New Generation Frigate requirement. It was supported by the Vestrician Admiralty on 30 August 2017. The Government also announced that the ships were to be built in Vestricia with Vestrician-specific modifications and would be named the “Uchigatana-class” in Vestrician service.

2022 Review

In September 2022, Prime Minister Shiena Mari Shaing Ricarte announced major changes in the surface fleet of the Royal Vestrician Navy with the Uchigatana class order of ten ships will divided into two batches with different weapon suites to cater the needs of the navy to its return to global stage from imperialist and aggressively defensive stance of the Cold War to a monarchical and democratic stance in the contemporary era, as she said during the keel laying of HVMS Kikkou Sadamune and HVMS Heshikiri Hasebe in 2019:

“This new ships will symbolize a newly reformed navy returning from its former glory as a strongest powerhouse in Asia alongside Imperial Japan from the 20th Century of Imperialist pride and honor and paving ourselves as one of its main contenders in preserving the peace we protect in the past 70 years as we transition from series of humiliation, fear, agony, and rebellion with a mountain of our aggressive intentions to maintain its sole interest to it's Imperial ambition to preserve its territory and ideologies from outsiders. We prove that we won the war, we preserve the democracy that we uphold and support alongside Her Imperial Majesty Emeritus, and continue to strive to be the best and for the best in the Indo-Pacific Region. We will continue to defend our national interests at the behest of our abilities and prevail as the symbol of peace and tranquility in Asia and at best, in the world.”

The ten planned vessels would continue to replace the outgoing Statdfeld-class which had been retired three years ago and another class of 11 new air defense frigates would be selected to supplement most of the second rank frigates that are in service in both carrier strike group, escort squadrons and the Home Fleet.

Imperial Vestrician Navy
Second Rank Frigates

Augerne-class Guided Missile Frigates

The Augerne-class multi-role stealth frigates are multi-mission derivatives of the French Navy's La Fayette-class frigate with the Imperial Vestrician Navy.

Development

The search for a replacement for the aging Villan-class destroyers, which entered into service in 1949, started in the mid-1990s. Germany (MEKO), the Netherlands (Damen) and France(DCNS) participated in the bid for the contract. In June 1999, the Vestrician Admiralty awarded the contract to DCNS for the design and construction of four frigates with addition of another four as an option. A key feature of the contract was the technology transfer arrangement. Under the arrangement, DCNS was to design the ship and oversee it's interoperability and maintenance for at least 5 years from the day the first and second ship of the class were commissioned while Vestricia will build all four frigates and were to be built locally by government-owned Hyuuga Naval Arsenal at Casablanca and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at its Sakuramine yard in Verdania. Subsequent maintenance and mid-life retrofit will be done by Vestrician.

Construction of Augerne began in late 2001, when the keel was laid down in Hyuuga Naval Arsenal in December 2001.

Transfer and Refit

In 2015, Vestrician Admiralty proposed a plan to modify the frigate to Anti-submarine warfare variant. Adding with budget constraints, tensions in Taiwan and Ryuugakyuu, and shipyard break between 2016 to 2019, a decision has made to transfer the four frigates - namely, Augerne, Catalene-Arienne, and Riviera Agnus to the Philippine Navy (AU Gregorio del Pilar-class frigates) and BrightKnights to Algeria Navy. The other four frigates had been modified to incorporate the latest Anti-submarine warfare system and new main mast designed from the British Royal Navy to be used for future ships (Type 26 and Type 31 frigates). The refit started from 2015 to 2018 in BAE Systems - Naval Ships in Rosenworth Academic City-state.

As designed, the ship equipped sonar to detect hostile submarines, thus adding 1 meter depth. Twin 100mm Type 98 guns had changed the 155mm SK/C 28 Mod 4 gun for accurate aerial fring capabilities and faster reload rate. They also equipped 24 cells SYLVER VLS for Aster 15 and Type 09 VL-ASROC. The indigenous Type 114 GMLS changed the Phalanx CIWS for close defense. The ESM in the center mast had changed to four low altitude medium range phased array radars, although it didn't change the original design of it. Most radar and electronic processing systems had been changed to suit the Anti-submarine role for the navy.

Wakizashi-class FREMM Multi-Mission Frigates

The FREMM (French: Frégate Européenne Multi-Mission; Italian: Fregata Europea Multi-Missione), which stands for "European multi-purpose frigate", is a Franco-Italian family of multi-purpose frigates designed by Naval Group and Fincantieri. In Vestricia, this surface combatant is known as the "Wakizashi class" (10 units planned, of which 5 were later cancelled). Vestricia, has ordered five air-defense ones based on the Italian design submitted by Fincantieri to Vestrician Admiralty according to its minimal requirements.

The ships are fitted with the United States Aegis weapons system allowing them to track hundreds of airborne targets simultaneously as part of its air defence network. The Wakizashi-class air defense frigates are one of the few non-US warships to carry the Aegis system and its associated SPY-1D radar. The American Arleigh Burke class, Japanese Kongo class, Korean Sejong the Great class, Spanish Alvaro de Bayan class, Australian Hobart class, and the Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen class also use the Aegis system.

This class also featured the indigenous SYLVER A-80 VLS, a modified variant of European Sylver VLS with 80 meter module that can carry longer cruise missiles that can travel at hypersonic speed and carry a heavy payload. HVMS Hizen Takahiro was the first ship to strictly comply to the 2015 IVN Naming Convention Law and subsequent 2016 IVN Ship Monitoring and Maintenance Law.

Development

On 18 January 2007, it was reported that the Vestrician Admiralty was interested in Fincantieri FREMM for the Imperial Vestrician Navy's Air Defense Frigate Program. On 28 February 2007, the Vestrician government met the Fincantieri officials along with Hyuuga Naval Arsenal’s contractors to decide the initial consideration for the development and Vestrician requirements for FREMM design to be entered in Vestrician service. On 16 February 2018, Fincantieri Marine awarded a $15 million contract for conceptual design of FREMM-DA, which the Navy would evaluate over 24 months ahead of a final request for proposal in 2009 and contract award in 2011.

From late May to early June 2013, the Italian Navy deployed Carlo Bergamini on a goodwill visit to Vestricia, making port calls in Akinagawa, Villan, Casablanca, and Oosora. She was visited by several Imperial Vestrician Navy and Vestrician Government officials who toured her as a potential candidate. Among the visitors was the newly Crowned Emperor, along with his Empress.

On 20 November 2012, it was announced that Navantia, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems will collaborate with Fincantieri in the final design to integrate the Aegis Weapon System to FREMM design, as Vestrician Government decide to require the Aegis radar suites and weapons to be equipped to upcoming frigates. The final design was presented in Rosenworth University of Marine Engineering on 25 December 2013. On 1 January 2014, Vestrician Admiralty signal the Hyuuga Naval Arsenal to start the keel laying of the first ship of the class.

On 30 October 2014, the Vestrician Admiralty finalized the decision and contract that Fincantieri had been awarded a $3.9 billion contract for the five frigates, to be built at Hyuuga Naval Arsenal in Casablanca, Brumaire Prefecture. The contract includes options for an additional five ships, which, if all options were exercised, would value the contract at $10.7 billion. On 7 October 2015, the first ship launched abided by a new naming convention.
