A new iteration based from discussion with Blackbuck in the IRC based on a reduced scale Dante Alighieri adopting three triple turrets instead of four twins in crude photoshoped SB scale;

Structure weight / hull surface area: 150 lbs/sq ft or 732 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):

Excellent machinery, storage, compartmentation space
Excellent accommodation and workspace room
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, can fire her guns in the heaviest weather

I'm actually rather fond of this design. With some tweaks it could potentially work as a reasonable CDS and baby dreadnought.

Edited the previous post on design 3 to show latest collage with icebreaker-style bow and correct twin shaft arrangement.

Work on bridge structure. Dante is designed for Mare Nostrum, warm climate. You need to think about the opposite one and remodel it to be more enclosed.

not that I am that happy with it, but would it not be easier to use my shipbucket drawing of the vessel?

Yeah that is something I will be doing with the redraw, I'm currently looking at what the Ganguts had amongst other Russian ships for ideas for what the upperworks may look like.

I did see your image Ace however I used this one as I wanted a top view to work with as well for/if I draw an overhead view of the vessel. I might use a few parts from that one though depending on what weapons I ultimately use for the secondaries in particular.

G'day all, man it's been almost a year since my last post!

I've been taking a break from drawing with my attention occupied by both job searching (still no luck unfortunately) and with my hobby of model trains. That said, recently I decided to get back and try and finish the ship I had the WIP from before. I also redrew Sierans flag to fix some old niggles I had with it, mainly that it wasn't properly centred before, and the north star is now much clearer than the original.

[ img ]

As for the ship, here it is. Still don't have an appropriate idea for what to name it. My cruisers are based after rivers and the big battlecruiser things named after admirals at Tsushima. Maybe go with similar naming to the BCs or go for something else?

Design has seen some evolution over the drawing process, namely the moving of the central turret forward and flipped to face rearwards after comments from Ace about the otherwise extremely restricted space for machinery in the hull. Any other feedback is greatly appreciated!
