At some point in the carer the Medz class got an massive upgrade to maximize the usage of the hull.

The Upgrade:
- Split Hangar.
- The latest in Phalanx CIWS (as small AA)
- 4*twin 35mm (as Heavy AA gun and light DP gun)
- New Phased Illumination.
- Equipped with next generation single 155mm AGS, replacing the old twin 155mm Heavy artillery gun. (NB! Late in carrier!)
- 2 of the small boost reactors are now only providing extra electricity, since the new weapon pack/system need a lot more electricity, short distance sprint is now 34 knots.

Redrawing my entire AU after a long absence from Shipbucket

Server class was a class of multi-role frigate that was build with a main task to work as a artillery ship working together cruisers from WW2 in artillery support. Thanks to a very smart hull design the navy managed to make a very stable gun platform that can hold a very high speed with a great range, as an admiral said once: "just point where you need some artillery support, and I shall have my fleet there!).

1963: 10 ship served in a artillery group under American command during the Vietnam War.

1965: Under re guest from the US president. Caledonia declared war on Vietnam, and send in their entire Artillery fleet (35 server class, 8 Heavy cruiser, 55 small Artillery ships) together with two aircraft carrier fleet and the military.

1981: A group of 7 artillery ship and 2 cruiser on rout back to base. come under attack by some Soviets ships, Server class launched all it's Harpoons before they pulled back, under cower fire from those two large cruiser.

2000: They are now on they way out of the navy and most of them are being putted in the reserve fleet.

2011: Caledonia naval command reactivated all server class ship in mothball and are put in service under the fire support of Libya.

2011-2012: Caledonia saw what was happening in Syria and had their entire fleet of server class and one aircraft carrier with support ship at anchor on the coast of Cyprus on a ready station if the order was to come. But Caledonia High command was also worried about Egypt.


Fun fact:

- Server class had their guns changed 4 times because of they was wear out.
- Server class has only once attacked another ships by guns or Missile.
- during a day fire support managed CSS Anne shot so man grenades that she had to redraw four times for a reload.
- In a world cruise in the 60's CSS Server managed to trawl around the world on 1 refuel.
- CSS Marian Had a Helicopter pad aft instead of Sea Sparrow.

Very interesting design but maybe Caledonia would think about replacing those very old guns
or would that just not be cost effective since they aren't serving much longer

As artillery support their god enough but around 1980/90 there was some new guns.

Interesting design, just strikes me as a little naked without a helipad and hangar but those are strictly optional.

A bit like a compact destroyer too, which is what a lot of nation's frigates are (especially those that can't afford proper destroyers).

And the Mk 42s wouldn't be "too old," quite a few vessels today still ship them.

That's kind of a stupid place to put a helipad though. It's right in the way of the funnel exhaust.
