Wouldn't any RoK successor state use a ton of Arleigh Burkes? With procurement like it is today they'd definitely still be in service by 2022.

Yes, they would, those are coming along later. And by Arleigh Burkes, I meant what klag said.

No, because they would likely build their own derivatives, like the King Sejoung the Great they already have.

The next design I'm going to post is a modern guided missile cruiser. Since no new cruiser designs have been produce since the days of the Tico's, I went with a modern looking design, with the radar centralized to a main tower in the center of the superstructure, with 2 64-cell Mk41 VLS's and 1 K-VLS in front of the bridge. It can't decide between two 5inch Otomelaras or 1 AGS Lite. The superstructure is basically an upscaled version of the earlier frigates superstructure. I'm fairly certain the hull was originally drawn by ace for an AU, but I'm not certain. I found it lying around my folder and decided to use it.

can't wait to see it, especially since there is only one or 2 cruisers that I have drawn for AU purposes that actually make sense....... :P

Could you send them to me or post them if you have them? I can probably identify the correct one. I'm also not so certain on the design, it might be massively top heavy. Also considering making it nuclear powered and making a futuristic railgun armed variant.

these are all cruiser and destroyer classes that I ended up using for my main AU, winged heroes. those are the ones that are good for certain in balance , propulsion and weight distribution. older stuff might work, but I lacked the knowledge and experience back then to be certain of that xD

The closest thing I could find was the Fictional Heroes class. I suppose I could have gutted it and then redesigned the superstructure. Then again, it could have been something else entirely. It was years ago and my memory sucks horribly. I just want to know who to credit, because I don't think I did it. At the time I think I got it, my drawing ablility was practically non-existent, so I didn't do it. Thinking of calling it the Silbeo Duelaegon (Silver Dragon) class

ah yes, my early sir lancelot class. if I may, I'd like to give some comments on this design
- the lack of SM-2 makes me wonder, but it seems you have your own replacement for it? also, an ESSM- class weapon?
- I recommend reading this post of RP-1 about the use of pods on warships, it has made me look at this setup with different eyes.....
- the GK is in an very bad position, it could be placed much better
- the bridge could be placed an deck higher
- the hull load of the stern and midships equipment is very high, as are the 2 VLS blocks just aft of each other on an relatively weak part of the hull (just in front of the superstructure, the bending moment of the waves will have the largest effect on exactly that point)
- I do not see parts made by leut_east, might be wrong on that though
- the drive train is gonna have large effects on the stern, and I doubt the gun will fit over there. it might also be an good idea to remove the gun because it hinders helicopter operation quite lot.
- you are going to have an large beam to fit all this on, which means you will need an very large powerplant to get her at 35 knots.

overall, the hull shape works, but the structure and weapons is gonne need some fixes (with my current knowledge, I can say the original here: http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/ ... celoet.png will already run into topweight and strength issues.......)
