HrMs Cor Standard Corvette.png
S type Corvette (Standart Corvette)
Batch 1 and 2.

In 1982 there where discussions about a small Corvette that matched the L/S Type frigate's.
The armament had to be large, and the corvette itself small and cheap.

A first design study came up in 1984, and a second one in 1985(start).
The second design study consisted of a Corvette with the size of 95.6m Lenght by 14.4m Wide.
The Class was capable of defending the coast of Soviet treats, such as submarines/aircraft/surface combatants.
The ship was designed to do 24 knots maximum, and 16 knots cruising speed.
With 2x Rolls royce gas turbines for maximum speed(21.500HP/16000KW each), and 2x small Rolls royce gas tubines(4900HP/3700KW each).

The armament/sensors/radars was decided to match a S type frigate wich was larger then this class of corvettes.
consisting off:
WM 22 (Air search)
2xStir's(Tracking)
LW-08/01 (Airial search)
Decca navigation radar
Scout navigation radar
2x Small Satcom(Radio receiver+Location/Satalite telephone+Communication)
2x Whips (Narrowbeam HF)
4x Thread antennes (Widebeam UHF/HF)
2x Kilowattes (Widebeam UHF)
MRU+ORU23+HK-014(For Electronic Warfare, only receivers and one tranceiver)

Oto Melara 76mm (For Airial and Surface Encounter)
Sea Sparrow Launcher(8 times Sea sparrow in the box, 16 reserve in storage box)
2x Quad pack harpoon (anti ship missile)
8x MK46 Torpedo (For the Lynx)
3x 20mm Oerlikon Standart+2x Fitted for but not With

They require a crew of 56 man

The ship was called Standard Corvette (S Cor). This was because the ship is a smaller S Frigate.
Eight of these ships where planned for the Small Surface Combatant fleet (smaldeel 16), only four where made.
Two for Curacau (Cuba treat), Two for Homeland(Netherlands itself).
This Smaldeel consists of Coast defence ships and Sea Search Planes (SSP/SSH).
This Smaldeel is ment to encounter threads close to land, help civilians in emergency, act as last defence.

All and all this ship class was ment to defend the homeland when the Large Surface Combatants where away and a thread was near.
These ships where build from 1985 till 1988.
HrMs Bakker P820 1985-2010-Sold to Indonesia as Abdul herbulla yos sudar (P501)
HrMs Boer P821 1986-2010 Sold to Indonesia as Abdul ammas refita (P502)
HrMs Bouwer P822 1988-2012 Sold to Indonesia as Ahmad Yukal (P506)
HrMs Bramer P823 1989-2012 Sold to Indonesia as Hamas Karel Subtuin (P701)

The first ship in the class had been crewed by Dutch and Belgium sailors (48 Dutch, 8 Belgium)
Belgium needed new ships in its navy. And after the Wielingen Class they where interested in 2 S type Frigates.
But these proved to be a bit to expensive for their navy.
So the Netherlands offered to go for a year on their S type Corvettes (Patrol ships).
This has proven to be succesfull and a offer of Two ships where given to the Belgium navy, they accepted.
But the ships where delayed to 1987 (Instead of starting in 1986), so they where commisioned in 89/90.
Right at the end where the Soviet's felt and the ships where not needed anymore.
They remained in service till 95/96 and sold to Indonesia as the first Batch of ships for Indonesia.
They where not replaced by any other ships.

They where called:
BNS Louise-Marie(P300) 1989-1996-Sold to Indonesia as Achmed talus (P503)
BNS Leopold 1 (P301) 1990-1995-Sold to Indonesia as Hesbollus Rapidi (P500)

20 years later from the first design, these ships where taken under the Loop.
A second Batch of this type where considerd and designed from 2007 till 2008(2009 start).
The Netherlands navy desided to sell the 4 Batch 1 S type's to Indonesia and build new ones with a improved upperstructure.
The new armament is:
I mast 100(Airial search, tracking,Transmitting,Receiving Electronic warfare)
Kelvin Hughes navigation radar
Scout navigation radar
4x PSU Satcom (Tv,Internet,radio receiver,GPs location/Communication,Emergency transmitter/receiver (GMDSS)
1x ESI Satcom (GPS Location/Satalite telephone+Communication)
2x Whips (Narrowbeam HF)
2x Thread antennes (Widebeam UHF/HF)
2x Kilowattes (Widebeam UHF)

Oto Melara 76mm (For Airial and Surface Encounter)
Goalkeeper CIWS (20mm anti air gun)
Sea Sparrow Vertical Launcher(Total of 16 Sea sparrow's)
2x Quad pack harpoon (anti ship missile)
8x MK46 Torpedo (For the Lynx/NH90)
3x .50 caliber Standart+2x Fitted for but not With

They require 52 man to run(40 normal, 12 extra for air crew/rhibs)

The four ships in the class are build between 2009 till 2012:
HrMs Blauw water P824 2010-2040-Sold for Scrap in 2044
HrMs Bruin water P825 2010-2040-Sold for Scrap in 2044
HrMs Geel water P826 2012-2040-Sold for Scrap in 2044
HrMs Wit water P827 2012-2040-Sold for Scrap in 2044
(All ships sold for scrap in one time, and replaced by a new class of ships (Frigates) wich also replaced the LCF's and others in one time)

No Crisis from 2004+ and Cold war threads where bit larger in EU area.(Cold war ended same time aprox)
So the Dutch navy expanded a bit more.
And right after it remained quite large.
But between some area's the number's decreased significant.
(When S/L frigates got decommisioned+GW, and When the Van Speijk (MLM) was decommisioned)

Attachment:

A large and powerfull class of Destroyer's.
Ment to replace the M Type frigate's, but they did not.
In the overal scale they replaced the loss of every single frigate from 1995 till 2015 (When they came in service).
The M Type was replaced by the FFX class instead (Powerfull, fast, stealthy, small frigates, and cheaper then the DDX)
DDX stands for Dual mission-Destroyer-Stealth(X)
The main mission of this class is Fleet air protection, and Fleet surface protection (Since 2012 called, FAP/FSP (Systems for Improved APAR).

This ship contains the following armament:
1x 127mm Oto Breda Stealth mount (Surface as main target, Airial as secondairy)
2x Goalkeeper Ciws (Close in weapon mount's, for Airial as main target)
48x Vertical Launch Cell<- IFF money available, 64x max.
8x Harpoon block 2(anti ship missiles)
4xMK41 torpedo launchers (MK46 torpedoes included, 10 per side in Torpedo Storage Room)
12x MK 46 torpedoes in Seperate Torpedo Storage Room(number 2) for NH/90's.
12xImproved SRBOC (3x2 aft, 3x2 front)
Multiple .50's and MAG's. (Plus many standarts possible to add)

Radars/sensors:
(ESI2)Empowered Satcom Improved
(IAP)Improved APAR
Smartl-L MK2
Gatekeeper
Improved IFF(Identical-Friend-Foe) system
ESM
S/X band (GMDSS/emergency, and communication between task force and single units. Narrow and Wide band)
Tv/Internet Satcom unit's(TISU)

The ships are capable to do a speed of 26 knots max, and 13 knots cruise speed.

For the rest it is secret what they are capable to do.
