Agreed. I like how you designed and depicted the Octagonal structure. Top notch!

Very attractive. Why is the 13mm (?) tub aft colored differently from everything else?

Huh? There's splinter mattresses here and there but nothing else differently coloured.

Macha Class Fast Battleship

[ img ]
[ img ]

The two ships in the class (Macha and Nemain) are the half-sisters of Ealga and Etain being laid down to a modified design originally worked out in detail as one of the Ealga proposals. As such they are built much the same with similar machinery and compartment arrangements. The main difference between them and their precursors are the larger 420mm guns and generally increased overall size.
Unlike Ealga and Etain the two Macha class ships were designed to operate closer to home with the threat of the Bismarck and Littorio classes to contend with they only reached the Pacific in the early part of April 1945 wherein they joined ranks with their sisters to form force X with a screening force of four cruisers and two light carriers, they operated together until the end of the war when Macha and Nemain returned to home waters.

Wow those are some big beasts. 420mm guns, You are fielding the most powerful battleships after the Yamatos :D (Don't misunderstand, I do like!)
One thing though, "Main Armament: 9x14"/50 (3x3)" is possibly a typo left from the Ealga Class specs table. And oh, I've just noticed the searchlights, I appreciate it!

Why yes, yes that was a typo! As for the main armament, that's out of a paranoia about the Axis battleships.

I've used bits and bobs from both the IJN and KM part sheets where they look right rather than drawing new parts as people have taken the time to draw things, why not put them to good use!

Attractive, but it feels very not-tight from a design standpoint. Your machinery box is almost 50' longer than an Iowa's, for substantially less power. You could attribute some of that to better subdivision, but it seems like we should reap greater gains for such a long box.
