I am not certain about those stabilising fins. they normally don't stick out under the keel, (very vulnerable) and they look big enough to stick out of the side too, so mooring will be a problem. try making them a bit smaller, not changing anything on the side of the hull but scaling it until the tip remains above the keel.

Hah, you're the first person to mention that. I was wondering when someone would notice.

I´m not completly sure about this, but a 3 screw design for a 2000 tons yacht seems a bit unnecessarily complicated to me...
By the way, as Krakatoa said, I want one of these for me!! Very nice ship!

Yeah, the 3 screw was mainly just an aesthetic thing. Does it make sense? Not really, but it does look good!

Thanks!

A little boat I started on a couple of hours ago. When I first started, it was supposed to be a one-off conversion of an older ship into a live-aboard. As I got further, I figured it was going pretty well so I decided to turn it into a fleet tender for Salide.

I'm not entirely sure when these will be built, but I assume the late 1960s. My only qualm with it being built in the 60s, is the stack looks a little too old.

Fleet Tender - WIP

And yes, this holds the distinction of being my first 5-view ship. :D

Length: 72ft
Beam: 20.5ft
Draught: 8ft
Propulsion: 4 cylinder 260hp
Displacement: 119 tons
Cruise (Max) Speed: 9kt (10kt)
Crew: 6
Cabins: 3 - 1x masters, 1x 2 berth, 1x 3 berth

Still a WIP. All comments welcome.

A really lovely boat/ship. An excellent start, and the five-view is a bonus.

Thanks Andy!

I'd have to say I'm doing pretty good today. Here's the next class, the A class. This was the first set of Tenders to be built under the Royal Navy Fleet Plan of 1958 (replacing most of the older equipment that was built by the Communist government, 1917-1950).

[ img ]

Specs -
Builder: Claibourne National Shipyard
Built: 1961-1964
Commissioned: 1961-2002
Length: 84ft
Beam: 22.5ft
Draught: Minimum 6ft, Normal 7ft
Propulsion: 6 cylinder 340hp, 3-speed transmission, 64" 4-blade bronze propeller
Displacement: 143 tons
Cruise (Max) Speed: 9kt (11kt)
Crew: 6 (Master, Helmsman, Engineer, Mechanic, 2 Seamen)
Cabins: 3 - 1x masters, 1x 2 berth, 1x 4 berth

Fuel Capacity: 1950 Gallons
Fuel Consumption: 1.1 USG per Nautical Mile at 9kts

The fleet tenders built for Salide were not only used to bring supplies from the dock to ships in harbor (and vice-versa) but they also served as general cargo vessels serving a lot of the small outlying islands (primarily for government shipments, but oftentimes with commercial cargo as well)

More to come, class B, D, E, and F!

Now for the B Class tenders!
The B Class tenders were built on the same hull and structure as the A Class, but were built for passenger transport. Of the 9 ships of the B Class, three were configured as a Dive Tender. These are the A9 Bastion, A13 Bohanan, and A14 Bagsby. Externally, they were the same as the other ships, but internally they were equipped with a full range of diving equipment including HP and LP compressors, air tanks, a surface gas control panel and system, and a decompression chamber.
