These are quite dinky support/amphib ships but I like them, compact yet flexible and useful designs.
Thank you.

With how the country look like, I think it was necessary for the Navy to operate small and handy support ships, that can defend them self "to a decree"

Old map of Caledonia:

I am planning to refurbish the map:
- There is several smaller islands to be drawn in
- the map is going to expand
- adding in boxes with far away Territories
- changing the map into a simplified map, with symbols marking highest points etc.

older drawing, basically redrawn.

Eagle class and Super Eagle class

"The heavily armed Eagle's"

With worries of thread to Caledonia territorial water, the Navy needed a large fast reacting combatant, that can operating next to fast attack craft, but also alone. At the same time as the Navy ordered Rom class, they ordered Eagle class and they started construction of them just 3 year after Rom class at a contracted shipyard, instead of the main Naval shipyard.

Design

Designed to react fast, and bring more heavy weapons then fast attack craft, they main task was to protect and defend, Caledonia many islands and it's territorial water. A powerfull powerplant, gave the ship ability to get up in speed fast, and hold a high speed for quite some time. It armaments was a combination of cheap and expensive weapons in combination with best of light weight radars and sensors they could equip the ship with.

-----------

Super Eagle class

around 15 year into the service of Eagle class, when Eagle's was starting to close into their MLU-periode, Caledonia ordered and improved version in addition to upgrading the older Eagle's up to this improved standard, while the older one got axed and replaced by Super Eagle.

The improvement they got in the MLU and the new build got, was:

- Improved powerplant
- improvement to hull design
- new guns
- new missile launchers
- upgrade to ASuW launcher
- upgrade and replacing of radars and electronics
- new fire-control systems
- improved sonar
- improved and enlarged heat-disperser in the funnel
- enlarged air-intake (was a weakness on the Eagle class)

Great as drawing, but have to admit that this long "empty" bow looks bit strange. ;)

thanks

It strange, when you are used to classic frigate design, but when you have a frigate build for speed ;)

Well, when you mentioned it... it does indeed look a bit like obscenely oversized powerboat yacht (that would win any race - if not by speed, then by disposing all the competition). ;)

The back story for the frigate class, was caledonia needed something that could react fast and move fast to anything happening innside Caledonia's water, and since Caledonia consist of many islands that need protection, having something big and fast that can deliver some punch...

Solid looking little frigate, but I pity the crew that has to maintain nine different types of notable weapons system, to say nothing of the electronics fit. I'm sure she'd be quite the dock queen.

Thanks.

Next to Rom class frigate (that I drown earlier, are updating), they are quite heavy updated, but then Rom class is an escort while Eagle class is supposed to operate close to the coast.
I agree they would probably be a dock queen. It's a sacrifice that have to been taken, for a ship that should be able to respond and hold ground for a short will.

but then no ships a perfect, wounder how they do it on patrol boats and corvettes that are armed like a frigate

"Post 2020"
(submarine aren't my thing, but hopefully this one work somewhat)

Scarab class

a class of 16 submarine, that was ordered by the Caledonia Navy as a brown water submarine, but with some blue water capability.

Design

Requirement was a attack submarine with unspecified missile capability and capability

it have an unique pressure hull layout, with two smaller hulls, the two smaller pressure hull is only connected trough a double hatch, the submarine could survive and still perform with flooding in this two pressure hull, with no limitation, but the recommended to limit some of the performances to be on the safe side. This two smaller hull section could also be used as an safe/rescue sone, since both pressure hull operated on an independent system for oxygen and power, in emergency's.

Compared to older submarine in the Navy, this class had more space for the crew, with more "comfort-equipment" onboard. Submariners would jokingly call the class for: "the palace" due to it's uncommon comfort...
The class was also the first class in the Navy with the new advance C&C-center onboard. among the equipment, was VR-headset Connected to multiple cameras but also to the main Periscope. When traveling under water, the ship computer will generate graphic for the VR-headset, giving the crew more environment awareness of the surrounding, this equipment was only ment as an addition, to what was normally used, like a tv-screen showing what the cameras sees, when surfaced.

Future planes

There are planes for an improved version of the Scarab class, it will be longer, have more "tools" including an extended classified section. There is also talk to about giving the improved version, a nuclear reactor.

---------------

Scarab class
"Advance" attack submarine (littoral)
in class: 3
in production: 13
Planned: 16
Planned sub-class: 8
Nick name: "The palace"
Moto: "don't worry"
---------------
Displacement: classified estimated: 8000+ tons
length: estimated to 110+ meter (illustration: 110.7 meter)
Beam: estimated to 9-10 meter
depth: estimated to 8+ meter
Propulsion: speculated to be a Diesel-electric-fuel cell or nuclear
Speed: estimated: 18 knots surfaced, 20+- knots submerged (reported as above 26 knots)
Range: estimated: 8000 Nm
Endurance: 3 to 12 week (standard)
Test depth: classified, estimated over 250 metres (820 ft)
complement: from 45 to 75

Sensors and
processing systems:
- hull mounted active/passiv sonare, large
- hull mounted active/passiv sonare, small
- ice and mine sonar
- flank sonars
- environment sensors
- medium range 3D radar
- satellite and other Communications equipment

armament:
8 torpedo tubes, firing both heavy and light torpedo, probably both Mk-19 and Mk-32 torpedoes, can also fire missiles from the torpedo tubes.
Torpedo magazine holds up to 26 or more weapons (U978, are designed to hold up to 34 torpedos, but the U978 is an special operation submarine)
4 x light experimental VLS with reload, installed in one of the smaller pressure hull, in case of a failure
4 x large VLS aft for sail, with capability to quad pack or firing Sub-NSM or tactical nuclear missiles.
6 x triple decoy launcher

Special equipment:
aft on the sail, a drone bay, that also can be used by special forces. this bay is always flooded, but can be pressurized in shallow water and access internal, but only when "shallow".
an unspecified hull hangar for special/classified operation.

That's a nice looking stealth sub!
I'm thinking of getting back into submarine drawing myself having not done one for about 15 years!
