The commissioning of the Japanese Kuma class and the American Omaha class the kanati navy realised  all of its current Cruiser classes were at a severe disadvantage in terms of  both Armament  and speed current. so in 1922 the naval board  began a light Cruiser study  into the feasibility of constructing a new class of light Cruiser, by late 1922  a new design have been drafted  this design called for a Cruiser  with a displacement of 5.000 tons and an Armament or 7 140mm gun,  this class was named the takatsu class. The class  the class was originally planned to have 10 vessels but  with the signing of the Washington naval Treaty  this order was reduced to 6 ships

takatsu was Commissioned of the 2nd of June 1927, one day before the kantai navy's 1927 Fleet Review, on the 3nd, the day of the Fleet Review the takatsu was almost ramed by the battleship musashi,The helmsman misjudged how far the takatsu needed to turn,  this caused the takatsu to oversteer directly into the path of the musashi, luckily the helmsman managed to correct the course of the takatsu  just enough to be clear the musashi's path. sho was Commissioned on 4th of june 1927 and Sendai was Commissioned on the 6th june.
[ img ]
sho was Commissioned on 4th of june 1927  however  she had one noticeable difference  from her sister  this was the addition of a aircraft catapult  mounted between the 7th and 6th guns  as well as a folding crane on her starboard side,  sendai  however was also busy with an aircraft launch system this however took the form of a flying off platform mounted into her Bridge very much like the Japanese Kumar and send I classes however quickly it was found that this flying off platform was inadequate for it's intended role,   with the last of the class being commissioned in 1930  it was decided that send I would be put back into dry dock  to have her flying off platform removed    however due to enable budget cuts this refit was pushed back to the  1932 slot  however it was pushed back again this time to the  2 September 5th 1934 however she would never received this reflect.
[ img ]
On the morning of September 4th 1934 the Sendai and takatsu were docked at Tajima Naval Arsenal  along with the three destroyers Asagochi,Nishikaze and Hae, the Sendai and takatsu  had just arrived the day previously the ships sail from the Heguri naval  Dockyard  as result from this long journey  the crews of the Sendai and the takatsu were quite worn out from their journey most of the ships crews were allowed to go Shore for a quick respite, a small skeleton crew was left behind aboard the ships this was to ensure that the ships are ready for the patrol at morning, the Sendai's helmsman Naoko Sakamoto on the Bridge of the Sendai with several of the crew members when suddenly a tremendous explosion went off Naoko and the other crew members   looked to the right to see a horrifying site the Destroyer Nishikazes have just exploded,  the explosion have reduced to ship nothing more then a quickly sinking hunk of flaming metal,  the Sendai was hit by two torpedoes And a third one that was a near miss   she capsized on a port side coming to rest on the bottom of the Harbour, the takatsu  was hit by 2 armour piercing bombs  and one torpedo  this torpedo ripped a massive hole in her port side she  quickly sank and Settle on the bottom of the harbour in an upright position  her upper deck and superstructure just sticking out of the water  by midday Japanese ground forces  have landed on the beaches and had captured the port as well as the surrounding towns.

From what I can see, you have 6x5.5" on your ship. The Japanese would be well aware of the C class with their inline weapons, you could move the mounting from beside the bridge and place it, just in front of the fore funnel, move the superstructure from under the gun to level with the aft part of the torpedoes, which gives you a shell handling room under the mounting. Make the torpedoes two sets of twins, one on each beam. If you then wanted to you could place another 3" AA beside the bridge replacing the 5.5".

That is a conversion I have done to the Tamiya 1/700 Tatsuta model, which works very well.
