In 1906, the newly formed Slovetinian government requested a single CDS from a Portorož shipbuilding firm. The design was to be based upon the Swedish CDS Oscar II, but slightly larger. The keel of this ship, soon known as Republik, was laid in 1907. After many delays due to material shortages, the Republik was launched on March 3rd, 1909. Following it's rushed construction, the ship would be commissioned into the Slovetinian Royal Navy as SKS Republik, KVS-01, on November 7th, 1911. The ship would serve as the main line of defense for the Slovetinian coast, specifically the valuable ports of Koper and Portorož. It would be refitted in 1916, following Slovetinia's entry into the Great War. After the war, the ship would be relegated to a floating defensive fort off of the coast near Koper. It would eventually be abandoned and left to rot in 1936, being semi-reactivated during the second world war. It was eventually permanently decommissioned and retired in 1946, and was turned into Slovetinia's first (and only) museum ship.

Republik As Commissioned:

Forgive me nit-picking, but do I see correctly, that You gave a country with population of barely 2,8 million people the armed forces that have 750000 active personnel?
More than 1 in 4 people in the active military? North Korea don't have such high ratio and even Wehrmacht in the last months of war didn't. ;)
(actually it's more than total strength of British armed forces in mid-1950s - and in early 1950s whole Yugoslavia, at great expense, when Soviet invasion seemed almost imminent, could for some time muster around 600000)
At such population You can count on some 30000 (thirty thousand) active personnel plus some 300000 (three hundred thousand) reservists, assuming very efficient mobilization system (like in Cold War Switzerland or in Israel).

My mistake. I'll fix it.

In 1913, just over a year after commissioning, Republik underwent it's first refit. This refit was primarily to solve a number of issues caused by the rushed construction of the vessel, including weak structural stability in some areas and sub-par rivets (which would occasionally fail and cause flooding). The ship was also found to be wet forward in anything but the calmest of seas, so the bow was slightly revised to help solve the issue. These fixes worked at first, but it would be discovered in the 1930s, when the ship was nearing the end of it's life, that the issues were much more widespread than thought at the time. In August, only a month after the refit was finished, she would participate in the first Slovetinian Fleet Review, for which she would receive a new, more flashy, paint scheme.
