Hi,

this thread will just be a corner for me to show you some of my PDs every now and then... :)

Schwerer Kreuzer Von der Tann (1940)

Basically a 9x20,3cm Hipper-class (or Hipperhorst if you will) with some thicker armor and an extra 105mm twin. Thats about it.

cheers!

This one started with me wondering if I could make something more conventional out of the Atlantikbomberkreuzer.
However, halfway through, I scrapped the idea and came up with a CL with just a touch of the "Atlantik's" bridge structure.

For what its worth, I ran it through springsharp and went a little overboard (its a bit silly, lol):

9.380t standard, 33knots max with a range of 10500nm @15knots. Armour was inspired by the Brookylns, with a maximum belt thickness of 120mm and a deck of 60mm.
Armament consists of: 9x 149mm (3x3); 10x 88mm (5x2); 12x 37mm (6x2); 20x 20mm (2x4 & 6x2)
In true german fashion, it is supposed to be Diesel engined.

Might do an "in service" drawing of her in or even post 1945.

Looks great, the sort of proper light cruiser that the Germans should have worked on.
