Here's a a thread for drawings of the fast American battleships from the game World of Warships. So far I have the Florida, Georgia and the Ohio. Do keep in mind I have not drawn down every little detail and feature seen on the ships. I've made some changes to them that I think makes sense, given some of the features seen on the four historical classes, though the fourth remained unbuilt. They are also not depicted in the exact same year and paint schemes. My drawings represents the ship as they would have been if built/completed in the year most suitable for the three ships.

First up is the USS Florida, a design based off of one of the later North Carolina class preliminaries. This one has three four-gun turrets sporting 12x14"/50 Mk B guns. The secondary battery consists of 16x5"/38 DP guns, with 4 single mounts, and 6 twin mounts. Light AA consists of 4 quad 1,1" Chicago Pianos, and 14 .50 M2s. Overall the superstructure is smaller, and there's only one large funnel. All-in-all. she looks very much like the 30s era battleship design studies whose superstructures more resembled cruisers such as the New Orleans, Brooklyn and Wichita. She has one radar, that being the CXAM-1 air-search radar. The paint scheme is the standard 1941 Measure 1, and she has three Kingfisher floatplanes.

Second is the USS Georgia. She's essentially a stretched South Dakota hull, with some superstructure elements taken from the Iowa class, which is not surprising since the genesis of the Georgia is one of the Iowa prelims. The 18 inch gun was considered for several of the designs, but ended up too big and heavy. The armament consists of 6x18"/48 Mk1 guns in three two-gun turrets. The secondary battery consists of the standard 20x5"/38 in twin mounts. The AA battery consists of 56x40mm Bofors in quad mounts, and 86x20mm Oerlikons in twin mounts. The radar suite is the standard mid/early late-war SK air-search radar, two SG navigational radars, as well as radar for fire-control of both main and secondary batteries. She carries two Kingfishers. The paint-scheme is the standard early/late war Measure 21.

Thirdly, the USS Ohio. Basically she's a regunned Montana class. She has 8x18"/48 Mk1 guns in four two-fun turrets, 20x5"/54 Mk16 guns in twin mounts. The AA battery consists of 80x40mm Bofors in quad mounts, and 142x20mm Oerlikons in twin mounts. She has the late-war/post-war radar suite of SK-2 air-search radar, one SG navigational radar, one SG-6 navigational radar as well as a smattering of various electronic equipments from radar/radio jammers and radar/radio direction finders. She carries two SC-1 Seahawks. The paint-scheme is the very late-war/post-war Measure 22 with the revised colors, that being neutral (without ultramarine blue tint) versions of 5-N (#7 Navy Grey) and 5-H (#27 Neutral Haze Grey.) The Ohio is the drawing that deviates the most from both the base Montana design, and the in-game Ohio, with changes that better reflect the changes done to US battleships during the war to add space for more AA guns.

Here's a new one; the USS Puerto Rico. WeeGee definetely ruined the looks of the CA2-D Alaska prelim by adding an Iowa style bow, so I fixed mine by keeping a more or less original bow. I started out with a Baltimore style bow, then changed it to a Cleveland style bridge that's wider than the superstructure behind it, but not by much. I decided to add a North Carolina/Montana style fire control tower in place of the original CA2-D style cruiser layout. It feels more fitting considering this design is not on oversized cruiser hull, but a fully fledged battleship hull.

[ img ]

[ img ]

[ img ]

[ img ]

Technically this is the Buffalo, but since that name was taken by a Baltimore class, I chose to instead go for Anchorage, which was not in use, and tehcnically both the Anchorage and the Buffalo are both the same design; that being the CA-B cruiser design. Anchorage simply uses equipment more in place on the Wichita, and not a design that comes after the Baltimore. Basically the CA-B is a Baltimore on steroids, and a blast from the past; amidships catapults and hangars.

I tehcnically did the irl counterpart to this design; that being the Gibbs and Cox Design B (Project 1058.1 in the USSR) battleship-carrier hybrid. WeeGee cleaned it up a bit, removing many of the different layers of platforms that ran outside of the hangar side, preferring instead a cleaner more slabsided appearance. As one can imagine, most of the generic/placeholder equipment has been replaced with proper period-correct items, such as the actual twin 5" mounts, the Mark 6 guns in the same turrets as the NorCal/SoDak classes, and USN planes. With the design dating to 1937, I figured 1942 would be the likely time for the ship to be commissioned, perfectly in time for the carrier panic. The fast battleship that is a carrier-escorting carrier.

Here's the Friedrich der Grosse, your run of the mill H-39 battleship, but depicted upon completion in 1943, and the paint scheme to boot.

And in service by the Soviets.

I already did this one for my AU as a successor to the Vanguard, but I've updated it and added some irl war-time stuff such as Bofors and Oerlikons that were missing on the original drawing.

Sun Yat-Sen, a Chinese Sovetsky class, but armed with twin 18" guns and the more modern 57mm AA guns:
[ img ]

Slava and Kremlin, both late enlarged Project 24 battleships, but with differing radar layouts:
[ img ]

[ img ]

The Admiral Ushakov is the largest of the Project 24 battleships, and is armed with 9x18" guns, and quad versions of the 130mm universal mount.
[ img ]

The Lenin is based on the Pr.21 design made by the KB-4 Design Bureau. It is shorter, with a more built up aft superstructure for additional directors. Both in-game and in my drawing it is clearly depicted post-war as it clearly has British lend-lease radars as well as the V-11 twin 37mm mount.

[ img ]

Hannover is a slightly lengthened, but narrower H-44 hull armed with 8x483mm guns and 32x128mm DP guns in stabilized twin mounts.
[ img ]

The Serov (Project 71) is a carrier based on the Chapayev hull. She has 16x100mm DP guns, 16x37mm guns, 40x.50 cal DShK and carries a total of 36 aircraft.
[ img ]

The Podvoisky is a 1929 prelim of the Project 1 large destroyer (Leningrad.)
[ img ]

Project 37 was a design for a small general-purpose warship that could be built in smaller river-based shipyards so as to not affect larger ship construction at major ship yards, The proposals varied from having 100mm twin mounts and 130mm mounts.

[ img ]

Petrovavlovsk is a fictional take on one of the Pr.82 cruiser designs. It´s armed with 9x220mm guns, 12x130mm guns and 32x45mm guns.
[ img ]

The Pozharsky is one of the early Sverdlov class cruisers. It´s a larger version of the Chapayev with more fuel storage and improved AA.
[ img ]

The Riga is based on one of the early designs for the Project 82 heavy cruiser. Even it this early form it had 9x220mm guns, with 24x100mm DP guns as well as an assortment of 37mm guns in quad and twin mounts.
[ img ]

The Novosibirsk is a mix of projects 22 and 25. It is a "cruiser" armed with 9254mm (10") guns and has a very large hull. The in-game ship is intended as a post-war completion of the designs with modern equipment.
[ img ]

The Alexander Nevsky is a project 84 cruiser whose armament and mission is geared towards fleet air-defense. It has dual-purpose 180mm guns in twin mounts and a powerful battery of twin 100mm DP guns.
[ img ]

The Sevastopol is the second ship of the Kronshtadt class. She is depicted as completed after the war, hence the modern weapons of twin 100mm DP mounts and 57mm AK-725 AA guns.
[ img ]

The Dmitri Donskoi is a composite of the many designs (40 in total) of the Project 65 cruiser. Intended to be a successor to the Project 68 (Chapayev) with a greater hull for added seakeeping, and improved firepower (180mm guns.)
[ img ]

Here's the Myogi and Ishizuchi

The Myogi is an enlarged version of the B-40 battlecruiser designed armed with 6x14"/45 guns, 16x152mm guns and four 76mm guns in single open mounts. Speed was to be 27kts. Armor was typical for a battlecruiser of the era. I changed the shape of the bow to a more approprate Japanese bow, which is also used on the real preliminary designs. I also made some changes to the location of the 76mm guns and replaced the two cranes and boat storage on/near the fore tripod for two boats on davits, on each side.
[ img ]

The Ishizuchi is the desgin B-46, or Vickers Design 472C. It has ten British 305"/50 guns, 16x152mm guns in casemates and 4x76mm guns. In just about every other respect it's the same as the Kongo as originally built. Due to her being British-built, I chose to use the Royal Navy 507 Very Dark Grey color scheme. I also replaced the in-game use of the old 45-caliber guns as used on the Dreadnought/Bellerophon/Invincible/Indefatigable classes for the 50 caliber gun and turret as used on the St.Vincent/Neptune/Colossus.
[ img ]

The Satsuma is one the largest of the A-150 designs, armed with 8x20" guns on a long hull. She has 100mm guns int semi-enclosed twin mounts.
[ img ]

The Republique is a Gascogne-style battleship armed with quad 431mm guns, and has a secondary battery of DP 6" guns, 127mm DP guns and 57mm AA guns.
[ img ]

The Patrie is an enlarged ship over the Republique, having three quad 431mm turrets as opposed to two. She also trades the 127mm guns for the newer 100mm gun in a fictional twin mount.
[ img ]

The Shikishima is the smaller of the A-150 designs, basically a Yamato, but with 6x20" guns and a secondary and AA layout more reminiscent of hull No.797, the fifth and last of the Yamato class.
[ img ]

Grosser Kurfürst is an elongated H-41 design using the real design for a triple turret mounting the 40,6cm (later rebored to 42cm) gun. Grosser Kurfürst has the standard array of 12x15cm guns, and has DP 12,8cm guns in twin mounts. Medium AA is 5,5cm gun and 20mm Flakvierling.
[ img ]

The Preussen is the exact same ship, but uses a fictional 45,7cm gun in twin turret.

Awesome! So glad to see these ships given the Shipbucket treatment! Would love to see other ships from the game, such as the Italian and German ships. Can't wait to see what else you have planned!

I've updated some stuff on the original drawings, and added the ships over their extended service lifes, though I still have a few more additions to add. I've also added the all new Puerto Rico up to 1948. I still have the 50s version, with the possibility of doing a Vietnam and maybe 80s version. Then I'll move over to the next ship, which will be the Anchorage/Buffalo, which is based on the CA-B cruiser design.

I've added the Anchorage (technically the Buffalo) and the Kearsarge.

I've updated some of the drawings, added the missing 1952 Georgia and expanded the topic by including ships of other nations. So far that included the Friedrich der Grosse (updated version of my old H-39 drawing) and an updated version of my Conqueror drawing.
