Of course, it could also reverse to the usual SpruCan Madness.

You wouldn't believe how many iterations of my own Sprucan have come and gone. They have their own directory in my file structure.

Oh I can. I started drawing SB drawings about a year ago, and since then I've seen at least thirty or forty different bashes of extremely varying quality. (Seriously, we're talking KillerBunni bad and DP good)
And I've never understood why it's so popular a hull. Sure, the USN did their own kitbashing with it in real life (Kidd and Tico) but still.
It's old, not particularly stealthy and it certainly isn't pretty.

Probably because it's large, relatively cheap, proven, designed with modularity in mind and has good hullspeed characteristics.

Also, pretty is a subjective matter - and one that doesn't factor in in warship design.

True, but most of the kitbashes are of the "Look how Cool it is!!!" variety. One would think a more imposing ship would be more popular.
The Spruance is just bland.

I'm actually surprised that people don't use Burke hulls more often. When I was doing the Republic of Libya AU, I was trying to design a small helicopter carrier (four to five copters capacity) on a Burke hull because, well, that's what's in production right now.

Also, let's continue this conversation in TurretHead's thread, I don't want to detract from erik_t's stuff anymore.

Golly, if you're floating around out there in the aether, I would still appreciate some ESM/ECM guidance (no pun intended).
