Erm... I don't think the Fort II's have a bow thruster. The source drawing is in error.

Also, bow thrusters can be further back if the hull shape, or concerns about slamming warrant it - they'll just not be as effective.

@RP1. I was wondering ive been looking at lots of pictures and can find no evidence either. I was simply going on the original drawing. I am going loose the bowthruster I think..

Next up is another supply ship the Wave 2, 2 of these ships were built for New Cromer in 2005 based on the original Waves for the RN, but with minor changes, they entered service in 2006/7 and are named Wave Rider and Wave Rover (but i'm going to change that to wave Surfer I think it sounds better) these were the first real replenishment ships my Navy had having previously relied on the RN and gave my country a true Blue water capability.

I don't think those openings are for bow thrusters. There are some other things that would require openings in that area.

here are two ships the first is a Destroyer that has served New Cromer since 1987, New Cromer became the second export customer after Argentina to buy the type 42, New Cromer took 4 Batch 4 ships based on the batch 3 stretched ships then being fielded by the RN but with some additional strengthening and some other minor alterations. they entered service in 1987 and have seen very intense use, being used to escort Carriers, deployed on NATO and UN exercises, used on Anti Piracy patrols off Somalia and in Indonesia, were deployed during both Gulf wars and during the war against Afghanistan.

[ img ]

Next up is the replacement for the Type 42, New Cromer's first home built military ship (note electronics and indeed some of the superstructure was designed and built in the UK then delivered to New Cromer). based on the UK's type 45 destroyer with more length and beam on a large trimaran hull, giving lots of space for future growth. armed with 8 2x4 Sylver A50 launcher for Aster 15 and 30 (64 missiles) and 2 2x4 cell Sylver A 70 for SCALP naval missiles (16 missiles) within the forward VLS pit, a 155mm gun 4 30mm guns and 2 Phalanx with Starstreak as a last gasp defence. one ship is built with 3 more planned.

[ img ]

space is reserved aft of the mission bays either side of the hangar for 2 (1 either side) Sylver A 43 2x4 VLS for CAM Quad packs (64 missiles). A further space is reserved in the forward VLS pit for either a 2x4 A43, A50 or an A70. The ship is also fitted for but not fitted with provision for two quad harpoon launchers in front of the bridge. These may be salvaged of of the type 21 when a new general purpose frigate enters service in around 2018.
