I don't get how the hull shading works though, I mean the propeller shafts are dark both top and bottom but not in the middle? And the bow looks extremely round, and the rudder is very fat at the back but not at the front?

- shadow, should be dark, when facing away from light source, but light facing toward the light.... You have dark shadow facing both way!
- rider doesn't need any shadow
- bow is totally wrong, compared to the model, try be a little more accurate toward the original source.
- oh before I forget, you have to many windows compared to the model!

An interesting concept for sure (and one I think Alvama drew several years ago, possibly in FD scale if my memory is correct).

Of course it must be pointed out that Normal Bel Geddes was not a naval engineer. It was a time filler for his staff, the Italian connection coming from theatrical designer Ernest de Weerth, on behalf of Mussolini. Another odd non-naval connection. Geddes hoped an American shipbuilder would take up the concept but sadly it was not to be. I suspect a proper firm of naval architects would have made several changes to the design to make it practical.
