Do we have somewhere the Bofors 40mm/L70 Type 520R mount? I remember seen it in old archives.

Some links

non of those links work!

You are probably looking for BAE Bofors 40mm Mk4 but with a different turret (similar design turret as Oto Melara 76mm SP)

You can find it on shipbucket wiki:

Swedish parts sheet, there is an Bofors L70mm/70 the turret Norway use:

The German 40mm Flak 28 (Bofors) is on this sheet:

Fixed the links.

The Type 520R mount is Italian and appeared in late 1980's (or probably mid 1980's). The Bae Mk4 is much newer.

I haven't seen any ships with that turret.

It's most likely a Oto Melara 40mm/70 (either the fast forty or twin compact) but with a new turret and electronics. those two turret is in the part sheet above, you can take them and draw the new turret on to them.

yhe L/70 onboard Finnish ships had fiberglass mountings made domestically, and thus are not the same ones as other navies, using the same gun. I have drawn some of them during my long career, but I cant recall if the ones shown here on Hämeenmaa are the latest version.

I think that the glass is bit different on the Finnish version, the other side is very close to the baseline Italian version, so it works fine for me.

The mounts in the drawing seem to indicate the presence of rocket flare racks. Has such an option been available and/or taken up by any Bofors 40mm user, particular for mountings that do not require deck penetration?
