So, I was screwing around with ships again (after a year or two...) and I realized that at least one ubiquitous part really needed an upgrade.

The Oto 127/54 Compact gun, old part on the right:

Yes, I used five shades of grey. There really was no other way to correctly display the frankly complex curve of this turret.

Noted I'd missed some details on the Mk71 8 inch gun, namely latches on the doors, and a vent on the left side of the gun housing.

Came into my mind, if the logic that demands thse bellow deck parts is to be followed to the letter, shouldnt they also include the weapon cutviews from the turrets?

They could include that, but they are primarily here to be able to see the ship impact of the components. Showing inner workings is secondary.

Yes this is true, what I thought was that the main reason we have the bellow deck parts is to sort of teach the limitations of things in volumewise for people in their AU "shipdesign", we could follow that idea futher to teach people the limitations inside the gunturrets and mounts so there would be changes for better and more realistic AU gun designs as well. Just something I've recently came By as working on my own AU naval guns in FD scale
